1  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Embroidered Wedding Gift on: May 11, 2010 11:43:58 PM

I embroidered a drawing of my husband's onto a vintage linen runner for his sister's wedding.  It was fun, but it was competing with a research paper!

This is a great example of what got me started embroidering.  My partner leaves these sorts of cartoons lying all around the house or on his studio floor, and I thought they would be perfect embroidered on something.  They make a great, if surprising gift - for the right person.

6  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Skull Dinner Napkins on: July 26, 2009 01:54:50 PM
Here are a couple of dinner napkins in preparation for the Day of the Dead celebrations in the fall.

They are stem stitch and satin stitch, with a few french knots and some running stitch thrown in.  They took me about a day each.

Yeah, Firefly!  Yeah, Joss Whedon!  Another great River line - "I swallowed a bug."  Your piece is great.
