Well, technically.. I think it was supposed to be super complicated, maybe. From what I read most people seem to do it square by square. I just cut a big enough piece of fabric for a crib-ish size quilt and just started sewing brightly colored fabric scraps to it until I liked the way it looked.

There was A LOT of ripping the seams out and trying again!

I finished this in about 15 hours or so over the course of three days. It is for a coworker who is due October 1st with a little boy.

I just kind of looked up ideas online (mainly craftser!) and just flew by the seat of my pants. Haha.

I have made raggy type quilts and basic (read: no border/binding) "quilts", so this was a totally new experience. I am relieved it is done! The binding didn't turn out as well as I had hoped, but I'm still proud!

I tried to get a shot of just the quilt but my 2 year old was so excited he wouldn't let go of it, so here's an "action" shot:
