114  Lost our kitty, memorial ideas and a question? in Pet-Related Crafts: Discussion and Questions by Jennickell on: April 21, 2006 07:26:47 AM
We lost our baby kitty yesterday, her name was Baby (we found her a block away from our house, we think she was hit by a car), my 5 year old is just devastated , he said (and imagine this in a five year old voice) "I lost my bestest friend".
I want to make a memorial marker for the spot we buried her in the back yard. My question was, if I want to put a picture on a stone (like decoupage it down), will polyurethane or shellac be weather resistant (if I put a lot of coats) or what product would.

RIP Baby Kitty (April 05 - April 20, 2006)
She was the yellow cat

PS
BeBe kitty (the other cat pictured) seems to be a little lost not having her friend around, any other cat owners out there have a suggestions? Should we get another cat for her?

117  Re: Places to recycle Christmas Cards?? in What the heck can I do with THIS? by Jennickell on: December 21, 2005 06:31:34 AM
They are sooooo yours, I just cant stand the thought of throwing away all these beuatiful cards that we get every year (I work for a japanese company and we get gorgeous cards from Japan), I will keep as many as i need for my own projects and send the rest to you. I put a message out on my companys message board to have everyone give all there card fronts to me. So after the new year, we will see how many stacks of card fronts are on my desk waiting for me.
PS
Here is what I did with past Christmases cards, I made them into new cards, I printed my own personal message on the inside and on the back I wrote "Recycled from the memories of Christmas' past, Jenny 2005"

118  Re: Christmas Stocking Swap Gallery in The Swap Gallery by Jennickell on: December 16, 2005 08:13:24 PM
Look what was waiting for me when I came home from work from kmsmaverick:

The cutest stocking with what looks like hand died fabric
a cute little tea cup and saucer
some lip gloss and bubble bath in the shape of fish
some gloves with fuzzy stuff sewn on
a pocket size tissue holder (which is so funny cause I was looking for one cause my 4 yr old has a never ending runny nose)
an ornament wreath made out of buttons
a little hand decorated box with chocalates
some chocolate coins (which my son has devoured)
and some hair scrunchies

Thank you, thank you, thank you! This has been one of the best swaps I have been in!!!

119  It's a Santa Skull, punk rock x-mas ornament! in Winter Holidays by Jennickell on: December 13, 2005 07:25:39 AM
I had originally made the punk rock tree skirt

and I used the same skulls to make felt ornaments

I made them for a swap and to send to friends as gifts. They turned out a lot better than I thought they would. Felt is the single greatest invention next to the glue gun.

Hook lady - I have a question maybe you can help with, I found these three hooks at an estate sale (I got them for free because the lady was impressed that I was even interested in them)

One says it is a boye size G, orignal price $.10 (that is imprinted on it)
but the other 2 dont say and they look like they might be bone or bakalite (sp), just wondering if you might no anything about them
