i have all these sock that i never have worn and got tired of them just taking up space in my sock drawer...4 pairs to be exact. i took each sock and cut it into one long strip. i came out with this square and now have no idea what to do with it. lol some of the socks had little grips on the bottom so my needle broke..cheap plastic Angry

12  CROCHET / Amigurumi: Completed Projects / Pac Man!!!!!!!! Whooo!!!! (with pattern link) on: August 13, 2009 11:24:36 AM
so i made a penguin for one of my girlfriends. then her boy friend saw it and totally wanted pac man and a ghost.  so i made them for him. i had trouble with the ghosty tips.but other than that it was pretty easy. i used this pattern

http://fulloffluff.com/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2007/04/crochered_pacman.pdf

it only took me about 5 hours give or take...i am really happy with the way they turned out...and so was my friends boyfriend. they are both about three or four inches high...i also used a smaller crochet needle than the pattern said..the stitches were to big with the larger needle and the stuffing was visible.

here they are!!

here is a shot of the bottom

C&C welcome and much much appreciated!!!

14  CROCHET / Amigurumi: Completed Projects / my first amigurumi!!! on: August 08, 2009 01:16:45 PM
the first one i made was the penguin. i was just trying my hand at it to see if i was any good. i have a before and after penguin. the next two are an elephant and a ladybug. i made these for my friend in New Mexico. She used to live in texas with me and ever since she moved i have missed her sooooo much. when i sent her a pic of my penguin she jokingly asked for an elephant. i surprised her with them. her dog keeps trying to eat them. lol.  i was going to post them earlier but i forgot to take pics before i sent them out. so the pics of the elephant and ladybug she took. here they are hope you enjoy!!

before

after

i used the patterns from lionbrand...i motified them all but mostly the elephant...i didn't like the way the trunk looked so i winged it and made it my own...anyway C&C much appreciated Smiley!!
15  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / first purse...finished...lined...zippered...and uniqueified on: August 08, 2009 12:33:30 AM
so i super love bacon and eggs...and although i like scrambled eggs my talent at making them is...well non existent. Anyway i made this in about two days...in between work and my other responsibilities. i am super in love with it. i lined it in red...because i love red...its my favorite color. i put the tassel together in about 1 minute. like i said this was my first purse ever! the first time i put on a zipper or even lined a purse. i have to admit that a lot of purse posts help me understand how to put the thing together. so thanks to all u purse makers. i haven't finished the last part yet but i really wanted to post...i am currently making a pancake coin purse for it...to go with the theme...any who here it is...

yep thats my purse...C&C welcome and much much much appreciated
thanks for looking!!!!
16  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Snake for my sad nine year old sister on: August 06, 2009 06:57:54 PM
story first. my nine year old sister loves have exotic pets. as a back to school present my mom bought her a baby snake. she loved it and toted its small cage with her all over the house. she bragged about it to everyone. i haven't lived with my mom since my senior year in high school. the other day i went to visit her and noticed that she didn't have her snake at her side. when i asked her about it she broke into tear and couldn't speak. i turned to my other younger sister (i have a big family) and she told me that our brother had lost it. she was heart broken and i hated to see her so sad, but there was nothing i could do. then it hit me while i was working on a crocheting project....BAM!!! i could crochet here a snake...it wouldn't replace her long lost friend, but it would hopefully provide some comfort. anyway here it is.
