1  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / First Jewelry post on: January 18, 2010 10:31:23 PM
Hey all! I'm not new to Craftser, just to the jewelry section. I'm usually found in the clothing section, but thought i would try my hand at jewelry, cause you can never have enough jewelry! I must say so far I am enjoying my new found craft.

A Charm necklace

And a close up of the charms. A wish box (haven't put my wish in yet), a penguin (for my boyfriend, I call him my penguin), a tree (tree of life) and an Ohm.

Thanks for looking :-)
2  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Tan Chiffon dress **now with on person pictures** on: December 29, 2009 12:07:18 PM
this dress was my final project for my pattern drafting class. I basically sewed it all together in one night, I wish i didnt have to rush it, because it could have been much better, but im happy with it, i think its cute. also it was one of my first times working with chiffon, its pretty tricky, and also unravels easily.  but yay

I tea dyed the lace

*EDIT*
I went and took pictures today of the dress on myself, as you ladies asked :-) hope you enjoy. Thank you so much for the comments.

3  SEWING IN GENERAL / Sewing Machines: Discussion and Questions / In need of new machine on: November 17, 2009 05:02:48 PM
My sewing machine just broke and it turns out it would cost just as much to fix it as i paid for it. so im in the market for a new machine. I dont want to spend a whole lot, maybe $200-300 give or take, id love to spend more, but dont have the money right now. I use my machine alot, on various fabrics from silks to denims. does anyone have any suggestions? thanks so much
4  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / green asymmetrical gown on: November 03, 2009 11:17:09 PM
i just finished this up about a week ago. its made from taffeta, with a silk lining, understructure and an asymmetrical cutout of the back/ side. this was my first time working with metal spiral boning, it wasnt too difficult (i just had to find something that could cut it haha) im pretty happy with the outcome though.

5  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / polka dot Bubble skirt dress on: October 26, 2009 10:06:11 PM
I picked up this blue polka dot dress at a yard sale a while ago for like two bucks, I had no idea what I was going to do with it,but there was just so much material to work with. Plus I like polka dots :-) I made this dress and still have half of the dress left haha

The voile dress came from the Rose Bowl swapmeet and cost a little more, about ten dollars.

And now the dress!

6  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Mens dress shirts to cute ruffle dress on: August 16, 2009 11:26:10 AM
I was at my favorite thrift store when I ran across this green button down dress shirt, I love the color and decided I had to make something with it (my boyfriend tried to steal it from me, but I couldn't let him lol). So I grabbed a black button down shirt as well and took them home and started plotting my concoction. In the end I came up with this cute ruffle front and racer back dress that I cant wait to wear out. All in all it only cost about six bucks.

7  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Summer dress and not so summer jacket on: August 09, 2009 07:34:35 PM
This first dress is something i made for my patternmaking by draping class final for last term. It was kinda a last minute decision because I couldn't decide what I wanted to make and I ended up finishing it in about 3-4 days. It took kinda alot of fabric, but I was very happy with how it turned out.  Its been great to wear all summer.

This second item is a jacket made of furry zebra print material, made the pattern myself also. It's pretty comfy and very cute, I wore it to a party and received alot of nice compliments on it :-)

hope you all enjoy and thanks for looking :-)
