21  Zagnut Mobius Cowl/Scarf (3 pics) in Crochet: Completed Projects by crazylittlekels on: March 08, 2010 03:03:49 PM
Ello, ello!
I started working on this Friday and finished it on Saturday. It was going to be a scarf but I didn't have enough yarn so I made it into a moebius cowl. The yarn is Patron's Decor my mom got from goodwill. The color's great, but it's kind of scratchy. However, I didn't know what else to do with it Huh anyway the pattern is from Ravelry and can be found here: http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/zagnut
I highly recommend it, lots of fun to make and the pattern is great and so simple!

Pics:

I think it might also be cute as a shawl for the summer (once it's less stiff)

Now all I have to do is wash/block it Cheesy

Thanks for taking a look Smiley

22  Mars University Tee (Futurama ftw!) in Stenciling: Completed Projects by crazylittlekels on: March 04, 2010 04:04:48 PM
I LOVE FUTURAMA! And I've wanted a Mars Uni. tee for a while, but they don't really sell the kind that I wanted... so I made my own  Wink

Oh no! Brain slug!

Haha, I look so heroic in that last one   Cheesy

And here's the inspiration:

KNOWLEDGE BRINGS FEAR! hmm... I might have to put that on the back ;P

I used a freezer paper stencil and some flexible fabric paint Smiley pretty easy. I may have put too many coats on though....

Btw, the brain slug can be found here http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=324982.msg3751974#msg3751974

Thanks for looking Smiley

23  Knitting Needle Roll-up in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by crazylittlekels on: March 04, 2010 12:45:19 PM
I'm not the best knitter in the world, I can only knit squares/rectangles... but when I came across a bag of knitting needles from sizes 6-15 for less than $5 at Goodwill I jumped on them! Only problem was, I didn't have a good storage system for them  Undecided
Recently I got back into sewing (got my sewing machine out and everything!) and looked through my giant box of fabric scraps. I found that two (I think they're called "Fat Quarters" from JoAnne's) of them looked beautiful together and that the size would be perfect! So I got to brainstorming and this is what I came up with: Cheesy

I absolutely love the outer fabric!!!

Inside shot:

And here's both of the patterns together:

I love it so much Cheesy there's even a pocket for my crochet hook bag! Yay!

Thanks so much for looking Smiley Keep on bein crafty  Wink

24  Cupcake Felt Needle Book in Completed Projects by crazylittlekels on: February 20, 2010 06:46:29 PM
I was inspired by this post http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?action=profile;u=63292;sa=showTopics;start=50 by user craftylittlemonkey and I just HAD to make one for myself Cheesy That and I've been wanting to make something cute and blue and pink for a while now. For eons I've been using a crocheted flower as my needle holder. Needless to say, that hasn't been working so well.

So here's my version:

The colors are pretty off and I tried fixing it but it didn't really work Undecided
Anyway, first time blanket stitching too!

I just love it Smiley

Thanks for looking!

25  Draped Cardigan from a Tshirt + tutorial (pic hefty) in Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by crazylittlekels on: February 14, 2010 01:09:52 PM
I was inspired to make this yesterday out of a t-shirt I spilled some sauce on and left a stain. The saying is really cute so don't worry, I did get a new one. However, this one has been in my stash for a while, just waiting to be re-made! My friend has something like this and I'm sure there's stuff at ROSS just like it, but this was only the price of the T-shirt and my time. Also I've not seen a tutorial for something like this (with sleeves and all) online anywhere, so I thought I would share Cheesy Overall it only took about 15 minutes! I think it would be a really cute thing to wear over cute Spring/Summer tops Smiley
Now for the pics!:

Tutorial

Materials:
A T-shirt that fits (or is a little bigger)
Scissors (optional: seam ripper)
Sewing machine or needle and thread

Step 1:

Lay your T-shirt flat and measure across the line A-B. Make sure that it is the same length as line C-D and line E-F.

Step 2:

Cut along line A-B through both sides of the T-shirt.
Cut along lines C-D and E-F through only the front part and around the back neckline.
you should have a piece that looks like this:

I'm saving it for somebody's baby's bib Smiley lol

Step 3:
(sorry there aren't better pictures for the final steps...)

Seam rip (or cut) up the seam from A-A' and B-B'. I prefer seam ripping because I needed as much fabric as I could salvage.

Step 4: (using picture from step 3)
Place right sides of one half of the bottom of the shirt line A-B to right sides of line C-D, and sew. Do the same for line E-F.

Step 5:
Celebrate! you're done Smiley Now cut off any loose threads and even up the lines and you have yourself a cute vest. Go out and flaunt it!

Thanks so much for looking! This is my first semi-in-depth tutorial and I'd appreciate some feedback. Smiley Also, if you have any questions, I'd be glad to answer them.
C&C= Love. Happy Valentine's day!!!

26  52 reasons in Valentine's Day by crazylittlekels on: February 11, 2010 04:42:55 PM
So I spent the last 4 days on this thing and I'm glad it's finally over and on its way to my bf!!! Seriously, after a while, it was a pain in the butt to find pictures to express what I wanted to say. I really hope he likes it Smiley
My bf is in the Marine Corps and the first time I visited him after we started dating he gave me a hello kitty box filled with note cards of 100 reasons why he likes me. It's been a little under 2 years since then, so I thought he might want something like that back Smiley I constructed it in an accordion way so all of the cards are taped together (time-consuming idea, but I like it that way). Anyway, on to the pics.

Just so you can get a good grasp at how friken huge this thing is:

And a few choice page combos:

I'm pretty sure the Einstein one has been done before, but since he IS both smart and funny, I figured it would be a good one for my 52 reasons too.

Why are we tetris enemies? I don't know, but he always keeps trying to beat my score on Facebook, and then I beat him back. It really amuses his friends >.<

Thanks so much for looking Cheesy

27  Purple and black hats for a best friend in Crochet: Completed Projects by crazylittlekels on: February 09, 2010 03:36:17 PM
Okay, so these were supposed to be for one of my bestie's b-bay present, but some things got in the way and they were pushed aside. But now I am sharing them with you so... yay! Hopefully they will get sent to her soon Sad I feel so bad! I used a bright purple and a black color from Caron simply soft for both.

so the first one:

Pattern: http://knotsbyashley.blogspot.com/2009/08/my-first-pattern.html
I made it over the summer when my hair was looong  Shocked

and the second one:

Pattern: my own brain child. I couldn't come up with a pattern if you asked. it's all swirled and it starts off with the purple as sc but then develops into hdc and then ends with sc. I honestly have no idea what I was thinking to be honest.

Let me know what you think! I know they're not absolutely fabulous but yeah... I hope she'll like them  Lips sealed

28  Harvard Yoga Pants in Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by crazylittlekels on: January 30, 2010 07:44:52 PM
Okay, so, I saw this tute (http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=299282.0) on how to make yoga pants, and it was finally the thing to get me motivated to dust off my sewing machine! I love them! It's made from a large man's Harvard T-shirt. I added a piece of elastic to the fold-over waistband. They fall just below my knees, and being that I'm a short girl, it's a very nice length.

but anyway, thanks for looking Cheesy

Okay, so I suddenly got this idea in my head after learning how to single crochet in back loops only. I will post a tutorial if anyone is interested, but really it's very simple Smiley

30  Alex's hats in Crochet: Completed Projects by crazylittlekels on: December 29, 2009 07:33:27 PM
So I made my bf several hats this season and wanted to share them here.

first a preview photo of 2 hats on me and my bf:

First hat, a basic hdc hat in Vanna's choice yarn

I didn't really use a pattern, I just kind of winged it out of hdc.

Second hat, from pattern http://www.piece-by-piece.net/Crochet/ddchat.htm

It turned out too big, so after I took the picture I tried to fix it, which I am still working on, lol.
I used Caron Simply Soft yarns for this project.

and then the third hat that I used my own brain pattern for:

I call it the "my favorite team" hat, because I made it specifically for my bf's new fave football team.
I will write down a pattern if anyone is interested Smiley It's kind of a "blend" between the two hats before.
It's made of doubled up Caron Simply soft and is hdc.
Oh and, btw, he hasn't taken off this hat since I made it 3 days ago! He loves it that much! I'm so happy Cheesy

Thanks for looking! C&C appreciated <3
