New creation!

2  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / New Quototei on: April 28, 2013 06:56:49 PM

Shhh! Quiet! The masked quototei is on a mission and requires absolute silence! While they have the ability to speak, they gave it up years ago, and prefer to communicate using a very complicated system of sign language with their tails. They are very serious creatures that view every task they are given as a very important quest. Right now they are all on a self given assignment to rid the north east of burnt out light bulbs - which is how I met this fellow. He had just finished changing the bulb in my kitchen that has been burnt out for 15 months, and was stabbing the old light bulb with a samurai sword (where he found a samurai sword that small, I have no idea) as I was walking in the door from work. He was so upset about being caught that he has insisted on repaying me by being my personal adventurer for one month (at least that's what I gathered after reading "Quototei Tail Sign Language for Dummies") . Many of my possessions have been stabbed by a tiny samurai sword. I promise to take this sword away before he comes to your home.

3  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Punwig on: March 23, 2013 12:19:00 PM

While most creatures prefer the great outdoors, punwigs are nocturnal and prone to hay fever, so they tend to stay in cities. Due to their small size they're able to travel by plumbing pipes (preferring copper), live in unused basements, and eat discarded bagels. Meaning that they don't have to do any actual work. Instead, they pass their time by sneaking into rock shows then painting miniature graffiti on the bathroom walls, making forts with the plastic drink cups, and "borrowing" the performers styling products.

Not sure what to name this little guy yet. What do you think?
5  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / New Zikoos! on: March 17, 2013 12:35:27 PM

Consider yourself a very lucky person if you ever run into a traveling zikoo. These creatures are hard to find, and always on the move. In fact, they are probably the only creatures that see every inch of the land on Earth during their lifetime! Unfortunately, they mix up every language they hear making them little tricky to understand.. unless you speak 12 languages. Never fear! If there is one thing these little guys are good at - it's the universal language of music. This particular zikoo is a big fan of the jazz clarinet. He promised to play me a tune in exchange for room and board. Little did I know that his favorite song is 247 hours long...

7  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Northern Woolly Groffett on: July 05, 2012 03:03:04 PM

This is a classic example of the Northern Woolly Groffet. While the groffets of the east are in charge of puddle maintenance, those in the north are in charge of icicles. It's a little known fact that icicles are actually one of the most hideous sights in the natural world. You can thank the groffets for going around to file the ice to a point and polish them up.

This Groffet was hand/machine sewn and, gently, stuffed with polyfill.

Width (hand to hand): 23 inches
Length (horn to foot): 18 inches

Omg!! What did you use for his mane/fluff I love that colour!!

Thank you! I actually found this faux fur in one of the random shops in the fabric district in New York. However I get a lot of my faux fur from Mendels online shop.

AWWWW. (same reaction as always) I love her! It's a her, isn't it? And although I usually don't blab, I'm ready to dig up every bit of gossip I've ever heard if she'd hover around me and then ask her tons of questions... I love the idea of an all-knowing race of adorable cyclops Grin

By the way, have you ever thought about creating a book of stories around your creations? I'd love to see something like an illustrated childrens book with your creations as characters...

Thank you so much! I've never really thought about making my own children's book. Perhaps I should kidnap one of my writer friends to be my partner Smiley
