Stunning work.  Really beautiful.  Smiley
2  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Re: Insulated Lunch Sack - Step by Step Tutorial on: August 13, 2009 11:28:26 AM
Thanks for the great tutorial and the great idea. The kids will have so many more choices for the look of their lunch bag if they can pick out fabric rather than having to settle for the commercial characters or plain colors available in lunchbags at the store.
3  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Re: A Red Poppet, my first on: August 11, 2009 12:13:51 PM
Thanks amigurl55.  I made her eyes out of scraps of acrylic craft felt.  I started with a sketch of a great big chibi eye that I liked, then sort of thought about it in layers.  I cut a white background, then a lavender iris, then a black pupil.  I tacked them together with a dot of glue and used white thread for the sparkle, and black thread for the lashes.  Those decorative stitches, along with some invisible stitches at the edges, hold the eyes onto the face.

I finished my first poppet! Thanks so much to Ghilie for her poppet pattern and to Craftewoman for the clothing patterns.  This was a lot of fun.
