2  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Ribbon Lei on: May 10, 2011 10:46:52 AM
I just recently made this ribbon lei for a friend's graduation.

It's really simple to make.  Basically you sew one side of the ribbon, and pull the thread to and make the ribbon turn onto itself.  You just keep doing so til you've achieved the length you want.  Here's a closeup of the lei:

It's pretty simple to make, but takes a bit of time, and a surprising amount of ribbon.  I used 18yards of ribbon but should have used double that for the length I really wanted (ran out of ribbon).

I have a few more pictures on my blog post about it too:http://radlinccrafts.blogspot.com/2011/05/ribbon-lei.html

Thanks for taking a look.
3  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Completed Projects / Nylon Flower Daffodil on: March 31, 2011 08:26:14 PM
I just posted this nylon flower daffodil last week on my blog.  I was experimenting a bit on the round center petal of the daffodil.  I basically made a cone with the wire and wrapped the cone from the inside out.  I think it turned out pretty good.  Cheesy

4  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Completed Projects / Plumeria Nylon Flower on: February 07, 2011 08:31:53 PM
This is a nylon flower I made during the summer last year.  I'm just getting around to sharing it now.  I made the wire forms for each two petals, then wrapped the variegated nylon around each of them before tying them together using some stretch nylon thread.  I think the toughest part was shaping the flower afterwards.  Hope you guys like it.  Smiley

5  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Crocheted Wrap for my Gnome on: February 01, 2011 04:05:49 PM
I recently made this crocheted wrap for my Gnome, Elmer.  Okay, so technically, I was trying a new pattern and ended up attaching two sides together to make this wrap.  That pattern involves half double crochets onto the back loop of the previous row, and continuing til an appropriately sized rectangle is achieved. Doesn't he look warm?  I want to make one in my size now. Smiley  Here's a link to the picture of Elmer's Wrap.

And here's my blog post on Elmer's wrap.
