1  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Floral Kimono on: January 06, 2015 11:04:34 AM
I made this kimono from some fabric my cousin bought me on her honeymoon in Thailand.
It's really lovely and floaty and one of my favourite pieces!

There's more pictures on my blog where I post my sewing projects weekly:

If anyone else has a blog, I'd love to have a look!

2  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Ghanaian Shift Dress on: November 20, 2014 12:03:06 PM
I went to Ghana with my college a couple of years ago and I managed to pick up this amazing fabric remnant for around 60p (which is around 95 cents)!

I wanted to show off as much of the beautiful pattern as possible and so made a shift dress with a high neckline. I'm so happy with how it turned out!

For a little something extra I lined it with a soft silk and added velour ribbon around the concealed zip Smiley

3  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / My very own Disney Princess Dress on: November 04, 2014 05:17:23 AM
The side panels are made from leftover curtain fabric, when I was sewing it, it felt like my own mini Enchanted moment! More pictures on my blog, link below

4  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Bette Davis Style Dress on: October 20, 2014 06:43:16 AM
This is most definitely the hardest thing I've ever made!
I accidentally cut the pattern pieces too small but luckily my friend is a model and it fit her perfectly!

5  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Opera Cape on: September 23, 2014 01:21:32 PM
The irony is that I have never been to the opera!
This was probably one of the hardest things I have ever made as I was following a vintage pattern but I'm really happy with the result. It's also the first time I've sewn in weights, which is surprisingly easy. Although it doesn't look it, the fabric is extremely lightweight, yet the cape retains lots of warmth, an added bonus!

I am obsessed with the shiny lining!

It's inaugural outing was to the tower of london for a private evening tour and the 'exchanging of the keys' ceremony, a 750 year old tradition for locking to tower at night, exciting!

6  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Autumn Floral Dress on: July 26, 2014 12:46:51 PM
I had a relapse of cancer June 2013 and didn't hem this badboy before I went into hospital. I won't go in to detail but I had a pretty crappy time and its taking a very long time to recover, HOWEVER I have been getting my energy back and FINALLY hemmed this dress and added a large bow at the back because, well, I wanted a dress with a bow on it!

8  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Pink Spotty Dress on: December 23, 2011 01:16:29 PM
So this is a pinky/mauvy with white spots fabric that I thought might make a nice dress... So I made the dress and I like it Smiley
It has a green embroidered ribbon attached to it around the waist to tie around in a bow...
I'll probably make this again, next time I'll have the waistband a bit lower because it was slightly over my ribs and makes me look chubby!
Anyway here it is...

For a christmassy look I paired it with sheer white spotty tights and fur trimmed boots...

& Yes, I do need to iron the hem and I will as soon as I get an iron Smiley

I love lace. It's official!
I found some lace with daisies on it and immediately knew which fabric to pair it with and what to make!
