Yes! It's from the famous frocks book, the first pattern I've used from there!

Thank you all so much for your lovely comments!

I forgot to post a photo of the back, which is actually my favourite part!

I went to Ghana with my college a couple of years ago and I managed to pick up this amazing fabric remnant for around 60p (which is around 95 cents)!

I wanted to show off as much of the beautiful pattern as possible and so made a shift dress with a high neckline. I'm so happy with how it turned out!

For a little something extra I lined it with a soft silk and added velour ribbon around the concealed zip Smiley

The side panels are made from leftover curtain fabric, when I was sewing it, it felt like my own mini Enchanted moment! More pictures on my blog, link below

This is most definitely the hardest thing I've ever made!
I accidentally cut the pattern pieces too small but luckily my friend is a model and it fit her perfectly!

Wow, thank you!

The irony is that I have never been to the opera!
This was probably one of the hardest things I have ever made as I was following a vintage pattern but I'm really happy with the result. It's also the first time I've sewn in weights, which is surprisingly easy. Although it doesn't look it, the fabric is extremely lightweight, yet the cape retains lots of warmth, an added bonus!

I am obsessed with the shiny lining!

It's inaugural outing was to the tower of london for a private evening tour and the 'exchanging of the keys' ceremony, a 750 year old tradition for locking to tower at night, exciting!

10  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Autumn Floral Dress on: July 26, 2014 12:46:51 PM
I had a relapse of cancer June 2013 and didn't hem this badboy before I went into hospital. I won't go in to detail but I had a pretty crappy time and its taking a very long time to recover, HOWEVER I have been getting my energy back and FINALLY hemmed this dress and added a large bow at the back because, well, I wanted a dress with a bow on it!
