I made this sampler as a gift for her.  Because love.

I used a quote from the movie "Return to the Valley of the Dolls" and a pattern from the Antique Pattern Library, and I made this.

This is very sweet. What did you stitch it on?? Linen?? It's lovely.

It's some sort of cotton/poly blend I got for a quarter at a yard sale.  Not what I'd usually buy, but it does have a nice linenlike texture.

I love it- it comes through as a sort of explosion of inspiration and color, and your stitch work is lovely.

[Little, Big]

So, I made this.  The quotation is from Little, Big, John Crowley's fabulous novel about family of people living on the gateway of the world the fairies come from.  The image is from the Antique Pattern Library.  The chart is on my blog if you'd like it.

I love Hyperbole and a Half!  You did a great job of translating the art into needlework while keeping its weird charm intact.  I liked 'I am mortal' best.

I made this for a friend's housewarming.  The image is a stylized version of her new house, the caption is a reference, as I'm sure you already know, to the elder god who will inevitably rise from the sea to plunge the world into horror and madness.  Perhaps I should have wished for her to be eaten first, and spared the nightmares that await, but my friend is something of a procrastinator.

I don't suppose the charts will be of much use, since this piece is sort of specific to my friend's actual house, but if you want them, I've put them on my blog.

Wow!  Props to you for having the eye to see the potential in this suitcase.  It looks utterly transformed!

I made this case for my Sony Pocket Reader out of a copy of a Lemony Snicket book.  I did feel a little guilty about killing a book, but my guilt was eased by choosing a popular book that I already own (with the words in).
