Mine's coming along nicely - Due to work travel this week, I won't be able to ship early, but will ship on time!

14  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / The Swap Gallery / Re: Pimp My Switchplate Swap Gallery on: May 30, 2006 01:16:34 PM
If you do send it back, don't pay for certified - you can just send it regular mail.    Anything that requires a signature doesn't get delivered to me but goes straight to the post office on the other side of town.

Oooo, kiwiblue, that's so pretty - I just hope I'm able to pick it up from the post office before they return it to you.  Sorry about that, my work schedule and office location don't really permit me to get to the post office where I live while it's actually open.
16  BATH AND BEAUTY / Bath and Beauty: Discussion and Questions / Re: The Art of Makeup on: May 18, 2006 10:22:19 AM
I used to play around with makeup a lot - I think that's how I learned what techniques work best for every day (and which ones are best reserved for events where I have a couple of hours to get ready).   Kevyn Aucoin's Making Faces is a great book for trying different techniques (both every-day and special effect).  Bobbi Brown also has a good book that focuses more on the every-day stuff.

I'll third the recommendation of Kilz - it may take more than one coat, but you can get it in multiple-gallon containers.

butter is meant to be yellow. its fat. fat is yelllow.

Actually, most fat is whitish.   I think the color of milkfat depends on what the cow is fed.

what is american bread like?

Well, the standard American sandwich bread has (up until recently) been white bread - slices about 1/2 inch thick of soft white bread with a soft-ish crust.    Wonder Bread http://www.wonderbread.com/ is the popular brand(in the South, at least).   Nowadays, though, you can find just about any kind of bread.  Of course,  I live in the city, so I'm probably a little spoiled in terms of diversity.

Since flamingofuzz isn't sure she can put up pics, here's a shot of the one I sent:

Edited to include a better photo.

I know!  I'm wondering how I missed this, too.  I would have really enjoyed this swap.  Now I'll just have to enjoy the swap gallery instead (until someone decides to do a round 2).
