202  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Re: Pocket change-purse on: July 13, 2009 01:51:36 PM
How fantastic!

Inspiring, too--I've been wanting to add a change-purse to my "to-do" list for a while now, 'cause the change-purse I have doesn't actually... er, HOLD, any change. It holds it until I take my eyes off of it, and then it spills the change all over the planet. So then I end up digging for quarters at the checkout everywhere I go. "Wait, I KNOW I have a quarter around here somewhere!!" Roll Eyes

Yours looks great.

Wow!! See, these are the kinds of things I like to see other people doing 'cause then it makes me feel bad about sitting on my butt all day, and gets me up and crafting! Cheesy

Nice work!

This swap's existence is my punishment for lurking for so dang long instead of signing up on the boards. Roll Eyes

Have fun!! I'll have fun watching what everyone gets. Grin

I'm working on two purses--for me, haha. I bought a couple fat quarters that I LOVE to make a purse with and I can't wait to get started on 'em, but I already have another purse started with some brighter color fabrics--yellow and green with little colorful designs and stuff.
207  QUILTING / Quilting: Completed Projects / Re: applique pirate blanket on: July 12, 2009 02:46:38 PM
Oh my gosh, best idea I've seen all day! Woohoo! My stepdaughter LOVES treasure maps and stuff, so I might have to make a mental note of this idea!

Looks GREAT!

210  NEWS AND DISCUSSION ABOUT CRAFTSTER / Introduce Yourself / hi folks! on: July 11, 2009 08:01:46 PM
Hi!

I've been kind of... er, lurking around for a while. Getting ideas and LOVING looking at people's crafty work. LOVE it.

A little about me: I'm 20, married for almost two years, and been living in the pacific northwest my whole life. I'm a college student, though not full time. I also take care of my husband's 6 year old daughter. It's a rough life, but crafting keeps me sane. Of course Cheesy

I guess I never grew out of being a CampFire girl. We did a lot of crafty stuff back then, and I've pretty much never stopped. When hubby and I first got married, I tried to be super domestic, and joined a "homemaking" site. Sometimes they talked about sewing on there, so I gave it a shot one day.  I ended up making a couple of hand-sewn quilts. I tried using sewing machines, but I haven't met one that I like yet. So I do all my sewing by hand. I've had to learn a few things the hard way with sewing, but it's been an overwhelmingly positive pursuit. I like making felt food and quilts and blankets and stuff. I'm sure I'll branch out the longer I work at it! Cheesy

I'm also pretty big on paper crafting.
For hubby's birthday, I made him one of them "52 things" deck of cards books. He LOVED it. For Mother's Day I made some inchies and framed 'em for MIL. And then I made some to decorate my bathroom with.

I only got into paper crafting a few months ago and I have NO idea why it took me so long to get into it! Gah! So fun.

So that's me.

Oh, and my name's Amy Wink
