1  REUSING/RECYCLING/RECRAFTING / What the heck can I do with THIS? / Re: Converse shoe boxes and Can tabs. on: September 18, 2009 09:08:41 AM
Thanks for the ideas.  Cheesy

I've decided I'm going to string the can tabs together and make a curtain-like thing to go in front of my door, but the pendants do look really cool.

I'll probably just end up using the shoe boxes for storage, lol.

I wanna do something crafty with my shoe boxes, I just don't know what. Right now they're just kinna sitting in my room gathering dust.   Undecided

Also I have like 483290743548957495894839 can tabs and no clue what to make with them. haha.

Any ideas?

This looks really nice for your first wallet.  Wink And if that's you in your avatar, then it's really nice to see a young crafter doing something creative. Keep it up!  Smiley

Thank you! And, yep, that's me.  Grin

I'd been wanting to make a wallet for a while now, but I didn't know how to make it, or what to make it out of. So, the other day I just started to experiment with some old denim that I cut off my pants. I hand sewed it, which I found out is REALLY hard to do. Then, I doodled and wrote random lyrics all over it with Sharpies. I love the way it turned out.

the cute little bear made by julieboolie. (http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=312923.0)

now meet his loving sister, courtney love!

i started him at 6am, but unlike julie, i fell asleep. so i ended up finishing her the next day. then my step-sister ripped the head off...so i had to sew it back on. so i'm just now getting around to posting her on here.

she's made from pink acrylic yarn. i stuffed her with old pillow stuffing and her eyes and nose are puffy paint. for her hair, i just tied black together and used purple yarn for the bow, then sewed it to the top of her head.

and i named her courtney love because my cat, kurt cobain, hates her. (:

this is really neat... i love the idea. i've been wanting to make something that can open up and hold things but i'm kind of lost on what to use inside to make the walls of whatever i make not cave in... what did you use?

Thanks. I just used stuffing from an old pillow in the stem and outlined the inside of the top with it too.

It looks great - what yarn did you use? Gorgeous colours!

Thanks. It's acrylic yarn. (:
