21  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / Re: CROCHET CHALLENGE 3: Hats inspired by animals VOTE FOR A WINNER UNTIL 3/1 on: February 28, 2007 08:22:42 AM
It's awesome to see them all lined up like that!  Mad hookin' skillz!

I wish we could vote for best overall (they get the prize), but then have subcategories!

Nice work everyone!

ok - I totally almost snarfed my coffee all over my keyboard here at work!

That is sooo hilarious!

I have no idea how you got that on your cat.

My cats would be snarling would definitely run and hide.

I'm impressed.

Hey - just letting you know that I updated this with a pic of it on my neice.  Only problem is that the hat is sized for a much younger baby...
so it barely fits on her head.

The hat is going up for an auction to benefit my nephew's preschool Smiley

Yay, grumpy chicken! I really want to see it on a baby though.

I know!  I'm sending it to my brother and sis-in-law for a silent auction to benefit my nephew's preschool Shocked)
I'll ask them to photograph my niece wearing the hat- but I think it might be too small for her.  She's 8 mos... and has a big head Wink  The hat is sized for 6-9 mos.

I'll attempt to get a pic of a baby wearing it and update with one if I get it.

Thanks for the feedback Smiley
26  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Chicken Baby Hat - now on Cute Baby on: February 09, 2007 01:29:09 PM
I posted this in the show and tell forum and they suggested that I put it here...

Good timing!

Here is my Chicken Baby Hat.  Own design... kind of odd... and oddly cute.  (cutely odd?)

The "stuff" hanging down are ties that go under the baby's chin.  I made them as "legs" with the feet at the end.

UPDATE:
By request, here is the grumpy chicken perched atop the head of a babe... he might be extra grumpy because he is far too small for such a big noggin' She's a little too old for the hat...

but you get the idea...

I didn't know about the challenge... but maybe - I'll look into it!

I just played around with the design... so yeah, it's my own pattern.  I wasn't sure what I was making with the chicken... with the frog I knew I wanted to make a frog.  I'm going to add a smile for the frog to give him more spunk.

I'm glad you guys like 'em Smiley

Kind of creepy ... kind of odd... but kind of fun... why not?

Pretty much anything looks cute on a baby, right?

29  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / Sewing Patches on Leather Jacket? on: January 04, 2007 09:49:16 AM
Hello,

My friend wants to sew some bad ass patches on his leather jacket and enlisted my help.  Sewing?  No problem.
Sewing Leather?
Yikes!
I have been looking stuff up online and it seems possible- but I really don't want to wreck his sweet jacket.

Any tips?
Ideas?

Thanks!
