1  CRAFTY BUSINESS ADVICE / Crafty Business Discussion / I Got First-Round Funding! on: July 24, 2010 08:35:19 PM

A generous family member who really believes in me has sent me the money I need to get my fashion label off the ground!  I'm so very excited.  This is my last weekend as a free woman, so I'm drinking gin & tonics and straightening up my studio.  As soon as the check hits my business account... it's Business Time!  (That's why they call them business socks.)

Now all I have to figure out is rent for the first six months while I get off the ground....

Oh good, I was afraid the tutorial would be hideously confusing.  I always confuse my friends when I try to show them how to do things Undecided

Hi!  I learned how to make these rad little bins while I was visiting Argentina.  This is how they look completed!

One of these showed up mysteriously on my cousin's bed (later I found out her boyfriend had made it).  Intrigued, I had to unfold and refold it until I saw how to make it myself.  I can't stop making these!

I tried to make a fabric version of this but it was very frustrating and it got too thick.  Maybe I'll try again with some quilting fabric, it's nice and thin...  I haven't done it yet, but maybe I'll paint these or add cute trim!  Time to start plundering the cutestuff bins.

The tutorial is just pictures with caption instructions.  I don't know if I'm any good at this kind of instructions, so let me know if you're confused!

7  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Re: Etched rocket necklace on: February 11, 2010 09:15:36 PM
Daawww, mushy burner love!  Man, that frikkin rocket... I sat for an hour staring at it, waiting for it to do something impressive that one night they were trying to do something impressive with it.  What did it end up doing?  I got bored and went and stared at the cubatron after a while and missed all the action...
