1  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Re: Punk Painted Skull Hair Clips (2 pictures) on: July 31, 2009 10:08:09 PM
Thank you all.  I really appreciate your kind comments!  I wanted to add some lace to a few of these, but I wasn't sure if I was down for some frilliness or bows... or whether my galpals would wear them like that.

Radmom: When I was a teenager my mom was very supportive of my style as well.  She even made a few awesome looking pairs of pants for me.  As an idea, favourite band names and logos are always a treat for any teen into music and they always display it with pride!

Thanks a lot everyone Cheesy The bag sure provided a lot of headaches when it came to implementation and my shoddy sewing machine.  I'm thinking about making another that converts in a different style.  The current conversion has a lot of steps to really do super quick and on the fly.  It has however proven its use several times since construction, especially when going out to pick up a few odds and ends and coming back with several meters of fabric 'accidentally'. Cheesy

(I've been thinking of posting the shorts... but there is a few adjustments I have to make as they are only about 85% complete)

These hair clips I made using a pack of hair fasteners, paint, Fimo and time.  The process was simply making some skull resembling Fimo pieces and painting them.  Of course one cannot stop at simply painting them as to what they resemble, but instead continue on to use them as a canvas. Cheesy I fastened the painted skulls with hot glue to the hair clips.

Unfortunately I recently DIY buzzcut my manly curls, so I cannot model these.

All six:

The two I am most excited about:

Please forgive the blurry second photo.  Lighting is terrible here.  If you  look real close you can see that the dinosaur is wearing Chuck Taylors!

These have put me into a dilemma.  I can not decided which I like more, the red dress or the keyboard skirt with bow.  On one hand, I absolutely love the cut and the way the pockets are on the red dress... on the other, that bow screams a playful geekiness.

Well done all around, I really dig the style! Cheesy

Fantastic!  Lovely shading on them... especially around the eyes!  At first glance it really looked like it was beveled and shaped opposed to just a really great paint job Cheesy

These make me want to start a family.  I am a huge fan of Chucks and shoes that look like chucks and would adorn my children in teeny tiny cute ones.

A great deviation from pillow making!  The cut of it is fantastic!  I wonder what would happen if someone got hit with a zebra lightning bolt?

I love it!  Totally inspired me to make one of these for one of my galpals who is always cold. Cheesy

Well done!  I love the shaping of it and the lacing on the back and sides!

Also: I dig your style! Cheesy

Very well done.  I love the way it flairs out at the bottom, this creates a curved line that really shows off the ears!

Wonderful!  Those eyes sure give it the perfect and right type of flair!  Rawr indeed. Cheesy
