21  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Re: PJ Pants (first ever pair of pants!) on: September 06, 2011 02:42:41 PM
Great job! They're super cute! I'd love to give making pants a try but I'm a bit afraid to because something like that pocket not laying flat would drive me up a wall Tongue

Lol, it is driving me a little crazy, but I think I'll be able to look past it since they are so snuggly.   Grin

Thanks all for the kind comments, when the other pair is done I will post them as well.  Hopefully they will have pockets that sit flat, lol!

24  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / PJ Pants (first ever pair of pants!) on: September 05, 2011 03:09:08 PM
I wanted something comfy and warm to lounge around in this winter, what is more comfortable than flannel PJ pants!  I made these using the Simplicity 2061 pattern.  Joanne was running a sale and the pattern cost 0.99 cents, score!  They are the fist pair of pants that I have ever sewn and the first clothing article I have finished (I have a jacket from Simply Chic but it is not done yet).  They are not perfect - the side seam of the casing and the pants do not line up but it is really not that noticeable and for some reason the one pocket doesn't sit flat.  Other than those 2 things they turned out good and I am happy!  I plan on making another pair in a really cute monkey fabric that I also purchased on sale.

As always C&C welcome! Smiley

I am hoping to make more in the future, it was a lot of work but I really loved the entire process.

This is the first quilt I have done and although it is not perfect I am so proud of it!

This is a gift for a colleague who is expecting her 1st child.  I was very lucky that my sister's MIL had a walking foot that would work on my machine as I do not own one yet.  I don't want to give it back, I don't know how I got along without one for so long! Grin  I used the freezer paper method for the applique.  I have never used this technique before and I have to say it is an awesome trick, so much easier than I had thought it would be. Mitering the corners drove me insane, they are not perfect but I think they turned out pretty good. Now on to the pictures...
