1  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / My mini pokemon collection galore (by that I mean 2 plushies) on: July 07, 2009 06:11:31 PM
I had fun trying to figure out how to make these little buggers. I ridiculously complicated my Raichu's face by making a bunch of obscure pieces to make it except I made his nose too low. The ears came out absolutely darling though. I also made the cutest little paw pads on his feet and using an idea from a moogle tutorial I made the legs able to move a little. I made the mistake of cutting out holes for his arms like sleeve thinking they will move like sleeve not accounting for the stuffing that will stiffen them. I actually made his tail and lightning bolt more moldable with an extremely braided thing of pipe cleaners. Now here he is...

Now for leafeon. Now this little bugger is going to be my friends present for her birthday. She sucked to make but was a challenge which kept me interested. I had no idea how to make her head so I looked at already made plushies to get an idea of how to make it. The head I am extremely pleased how it came out. Now the front legs I'm not so happy about. They look fine from the side but turn them to the front view and they look bad. I honestly don't know what I was thinking when I made them that way. Definetly going to change that before I make glacieon. I accidentally put the brown part on both sides of the ear which gave me a major facepalm moment because I already sewed all sides of the head together. Hand sewing her head on as well wasn't enjoyable because the first try looked terrible and took forever and I had to take it apart and sew it back. i just can't help feeling the front view still doesn't look quite right. Well quite enough from me. Here's Leafeon.

2  CLOTHING / Costumes: Discussion and Questions / Belle from Beauty and the Beast ball gown on: July 07, 2009 02:37:44 PM
For Another Anime Convention, my friends and I are going to attempt disney princesses and my friends suggested I do Belle's yellowy ball gown. Now I have an idea how to do it patternwise but I have no idea to do hooped skirts that my friend suggested for it. Can someone explain how to do the hoops or would a petticoat work for it? Also does anyone have any suggestions on the length of the skirt before it gets gathered? Any suggestions for a pattern that might help with either things?
