1  Re: Kelpie in Needlework: Completed Projects by whenindoubtsew on: December 07, 2014 11:09:42 PM
I am the luckiest swap partner ever and recipient of this beautiful piece of art. I can take more pictures if you like but some I have already taken from the side are (don't mind the stray dog hair in picture 2 - I only saw it in the pic and have now removed said stray hair -how do they get everywhere?!?  Shocked):

Sorry my picture taking abilities are shocking - but I hope it gives some idea of the amazingness of this piece of work - thanks so much Ludi for swapping with me  Grin

Awesome package MommytheMaid!!

After a 4 day wrestle with internet problems I am finally able to post photo of the incredible cryptid crafts Ludi made for me (I am so spoilt!)

The first item is a beautiful, gorgeous, crazy-impressive kelpie or scottish waterhorse. I love him (for some reason I decided it's a him) so much. The colours, stitching, stump work and ... well just everything is absolutely perfect  Grin Sorry it's so washed out we are having storms here (hence no internet) but here take a look!

And a superb Thylacine Teesha Moore inspired patch - I love the old world photos of the thylacine so this is perfect.

Thanks so much Ludi for swapping with me and for your patience whilst I posted these pics - I have my fingers crossed your parcel is not too far away - grrr international shipping  Embarrassed

Ani Mei's package for me arrived and it's glorious  Grin Apologies fo a very pic heavy post  Shocked I can't believe I have so many beautiful clothing choices for my dolls - yes that's right plural!! I started the swap with only Operetta and since then (inspired by all the great dolls I have seen and some great sales on lately) added Skelita, Spectra and Laguna!! Check out the awesome threads and accessories Ani Mei made for me  Smiley

I gave rockabilly as one of my styles - I love this polka dot dress with lace and red ribbon trim. I decided to pair it with the crocheted beret and scarf Ani Mei made out of a lovely fuzzy/sequin-y yarn

Next a beautiful purple kimono that fits perfectly - modelled by Operetta

Next a slinky tiger print dress and a few more accessories - beads for bracelets and a gorgeous black bag with chain strap. Also the coolest silver belt - love the use of a jewelry clasp.

And with a red cape - love!!  Cheesy

And last but by no means least  - a little black dress. How good does it look?!? Also a close up to chow the sequin detail

Thankyou so much Ani Mei - I am relatively new to the world of MH - the goodies you sent me has increased my obsession a thousand-fold. I hope your package arrives soon and you like them as much as I love what you have made for me  Smiley

I really need to catch-up  Undecided

Ludi I love the embroidery and texture of the yarn used for the brain and fantastic use of Latin!  Cheesy
Wings of Clay every time I look at that skull you altered for Ludi  - I see more details the eyes just popped out at me. Love the glasses and yarn brain and how vintagey it looks/ The fridge magnet is amazing and so is the ornament love!
LaChapa Brrraaaainnnssssss. And in a jar with a cerebellum and brainstem   Grin
Kittykill amazing huge eye! And your hoops are always awesome love the look of this one  Cheesy
Briann003 I am in awe of the stitching of vessels on that skull and the plastic aprons are perfect want
Avocadoeldorado that is one of the most incredible piece of stitched art I have seen and there is a mountain of amazing stuff on cratster! It reminds me of the pictures Abby from NCIS has blown up and put on the walls of her lab!

Manja_is has asked me to post some pictures of what I sent as it is a bt tricky to get to it at the moment. I stalked pinterest and combined that with manja's questionnaire and combined bones, hearts, realism and purple (Manja's favourite colour!) There is an embroidered heart on a journal cover, vintage images on a bracelet and earring set, vintage images on pendant necklace, a small vial containing polymer clay 'blood cells', and drawings on a mug (pun - I find that humerus) and lolly jar (didn't take a photo of the last one)

Thanks Manja for swapping with me and sending me some amazing anatomical goodies  Grin And the amazing kittykill for organising!

5  Re: Vintage Halloween Swap 2014 Gallery in The Swap Gallery by whenindoubtsew on: November 14, 2014 12:39:19 AM
Thanks everyone for the kind words - I loved making that bunting. Irid3sc3nt pinned she loved round bunting which I thought looked pretty amazing so gave it a go. And I loved stalking and researching all the vintage postcards - incredible.

Now it's my turn to post some vintage Halloween amazingness - sorry too for the pic quality - it's just on sunset here.

Irid3sc3nt brought together stuff from my questionnaire and pins to make this beautiful cloche. I have always wanted one. It combines vintage (lace, pearls, black bows, doily) skeletons, bats, vintage key and sweet blackbird and I just love it to bits. Irid3sc3nt left it up to my interpretation whether Mr Skeleton was releasing or trying to catch the bat - Have a look!!

There were also some really great Halloween-y extra's as Australia hasn't really got a strong tradition with Halloween and I love all the vintage imagery, sweets and bits & bobs.

Thank you so much irid3sc3nt for swapping with me and choosing to ship internationally. And I hope arriving after Halloween wasn't too frustrating!! I have Jack (after Nightmare before Christmas) sitting out on display - he's good enough to be out all year round  Cheesy

Thanks to you too kittykill for another amazing vintage swap - another home run!!  Grin

6  Re: Lexophiles Unite! swap gallery in ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED by whenindoubtsew on: November 08, 2014 09:53:57 PM
I received a package of wordy goodness that fulfilled all my dreams from Magpirate just before the weekend. I have to thank her for her patience as I took photos and forgot to take my camera when we left for said weekend. I receive all my craft swap packages at work and squealed in delight at what Magpirate made for me - wait till you see it  Cheesy

First - I am reading through all the books in the Outlander series at the moment by Diana Gabaldon and being a redhead of Welsh descent and loving words I had a list of Gaellic words for red or red haired etc that Magpirate kindly embroidered for me in a celtic image. The stitching is exquisite - I tried to get a good photo but my camera was not up to the task - trust me the stitches are so tiny and so neat - beautiful.

We also agreed on extras and Magpirate included some amazing ones - an extra image of Gaellic words in a celtic image, an awesome Harry Potter TM patch (love the spells, fonts and gold thread on red material) and a tiny leather bound book with punny jokes!! As well as a small Gallifreyan charm (my most favourite fandoms covered  Grin)

And lastly - a picture of it all together - I have been spoiled big time!!

Thank you so much Magprirate for swapping with me - I am in awe of your embroidery skills and chuffed to own one of your crafted pieces  Smiley

Thanks too Blasphemy for organising - I know your swap angel will be spoiling you too!!

Oh - this is one of those rare occasions where I get to post first  Cheesy Sorry I have taken so long to post these (they arrived a few days ago) I took pictures on my phone and tried to upload with Tapatalk - but it wasn't updating itself properly (anyone else having a problem) so I had to wait until I could email to my computer and upload them that way. Sorry manja_is - you have been very patient  Smiley

Well I received an amazing package from manja_is - major anatomy goodies coming up - I love them all!!

Some gorgeous vintage anatomy image coasters! Due to the tyrannies of modge podge they got a little stuck together in transit but I have managed to get 3 of the 6 apart with minimal very fixable damage. I love them so much I will be carefully removing the others.

Some skully jewelry - a bracelet and earrings which both fit perfectly and are in one of my favourite colours!

And last but not least a 'dry your heart out' tea towel - so punny!! With a realistic anatomical heart (the best kind)

Thanks for swapping with me manja_is - your goodies will be on their way tomorrow  Cheesy

I received a gorgeous angel package from our awesome organiser and fantastic crafter Briannab03!! I am absolutely floored and feel very fortunate to have some of her beautiful crafts. I was absolutely spoilt!!

First there is a perfect cross body purse made with super cool atoms and vintage science fabric (swoon) luckily it's reversible as there is the most perfect print on the pocket of a DNA tree - I am in love

There is also 2 felt badges - the Ah element (of surprise) and anatomical heart ( swoon again) - which I wore with my red cardigan all day today.

And last but by no means least - a glow in the dark jellyfish hoopla with its scientific name - gorgeous, detailed stitching.

A million times thank you Brianna for angel crafting for me - I love it all!!

9  Half-a-Hoopla Swap Gallery! in The Swap Gallery by whenindoubtsew on: October 01, 2014 05:56:09 AM
Love those hoops - the tree into a rocket raining acorns and the lovely rocket and quote are amazing.

I also received a piece of fantastical stitching from moriarT today - I am so happy!! Here it was when I sent

And here it is embellished and beautifully detailed by moriraT. The lace door with heart lock charm, the banner and button tyre, a quote I had as a favourite of mine and the cheeky bottle of red down the bottom - I absolutely love it. And as you can tell by my prompt sheet in the background I have hung it up at work for the time being so I can look at it when I am getting frustrated and pretend I am planning a trip in my vintage caravan!!

Thanks so much morairT for inviting me to this swap - it's been such a fun swap to do. Hope we get to swap again sometime soon!!

Sorry about the delay - late home from work both nights and poor light - but I got some pics that do crazyda79's crafts justice. I can't believe the awesomeness. First I want to say I so appreciate the people that swap with me from overseas - you don't have to and then have to be patient while the parcels arrive!! Thanks crazyda79

Here are the goods:
A Venus flytrap hoopla with some cool extra fabric - love it

Now I absolutely adore miniatures in little vials and mini cloches and crazyda79 made this amazing tiny pitcher plant that I can wear as a pendant

And a gorgeous embroidered sundew felt badger and Venus flytrap brooch!!

Thanks again crazyda79 - I've loved crafting for you and receiving what you made for me. Now I am off to add my hoop toy hoopla wall  😃
