3  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / New Earrings, a pin, and a question on: April 06, 2005 06:23:31 PM
I've made a bunch of new earrigns but I"m going to only post the ones I like betters because I don't want to take too much room up picture-wise. I fyou want to see the others you can check out my website (polkadottedpaper.com)

Anyway, on to the pictures

and the question
For my birthday my boy is taking me to the beadshops in the area. My supplies right now are very limited (I basically have a few beads, old necaklaces to mess around with, wire, and jump rings)
So right now I plan on buying beads, some chain, and headpins.
Is there anything you find that is especially useful and would recomend?
4  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Painted Fawn Blazer on: April 04, 2005 10:49:42 PM
So I've had this blazer just sitting around because it was dry clean only and my sister put it in the wash after I told her not to so it got a little distorted. I still love the blazer anyway so I though I'd try and pull the attention away from any visaible distortion (I think i'm the only who really sees it though..). So I came up with this:

front is kind of bland, I'm thinking of doing something later but I replaced the black buttons with white ones and painted the little thing in the corner

I loveeeee the back, I typed fawn in google image search and that picture came up from a coloring book and I free handed it on to the jacket and than added all of the swirly leafy so on.

I used a mix of acrylics, fabic paint, and sharpie (over the paint). So it's proabbyl not very washable but it doesn't matter anyway to me since I always hand wash anything with fabric paint, just in case.

Would any of you be even remotely interested in buying something like this? I've started an online business so I'm figuring out things to sell...
5  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / My favorite Animal Swap on: March 20, 2005 08:48:19 PM
I wanted to organize a swap and so I thought of a 'my favorite animal' swap. I looked through the past swap ideas and the only one I could find that was close was 'animal swap' but it seemed like the went towards making thing for their cats, dogs, etc. So sorry if I took someone's idea just tell me and I won't do it.

Anyway, I was thinking we could exchange our favorite animals (and if it was like a specific dog for example state that too) and make anything with them. Like purses, shirts, jewelry, get stickers, buttons, pins, etc etc etc or even make a stuffed animal of it.

And we'd probably have the usual of one larger or two medium type things and than a bunch of small things.
What do you think?
6  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / 4 new earrings and a pin (lots of pictures) on: March 07, 2005 02:40:10 PM
Since the first pair of earrings I've made four more and a pin. My suppplies are pretty limited so that's why they are all using pretty much the same things.

These are the second pari I've made just using chain from an old necklace and rose tear drops

Pretty much like the ones before but just a small clump of the rose tear drops

I don't really know what I was going for when I made this pin..just experimenting. But It does actually look pretty when against chocolate brown.

I made these with some extra buttons. the buttons have a pearl-y shimmer to them which is shown better in the linked picture

And I've only made the one so far..I'm not sure if I like it enough to make the other. Just experimenting with wire
7  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / Just some of my Photographs on: March 06, 2005 07:42:52 PM
I don't know why but for some reason it never registered to me to post my art in the art section...
Well anyway, I'm into all kinds of art (and even though I do it I HATE painting). But here are a few of my photos. Enjoy!

9  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / My First Earrings! on: February 20, 2005 09:41:29 PM
I've always been fond of the idea of making my own jewelry since it is so expensive to buy and so when I went down to Portland this weekend to check out a college and of course had o go shopping when I discovered a bead shop. I'm in loooove now. So I decided to just buy a few things and make a pair of earrings.

They are really simple but I love them

And I love how they just peek out from underneath my hair

Sorry the pictures are all sort of blurry, my camera decided it wouldn't take focused pictures.
