1  COOKING / Dessert / Lemon Macarons on: November 16, 2010 03:55:31 PM
YUM is all I can say...I decided to start a new foodie blog and to celebrate I made macarons first time ever. Not to be confused with coconut macaroons

I present to you... Lemon Macarons with Lemon Swiss Buttercream filling

It was such a hassle, the first lot turned out perfect, apart from being overcooked... The second and third lot, well... not so much. More details can be found here http://bite-sized-food.blogspot.com/2010/11/oh-my-macaron.html
2  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Discussion and Questions / Inseam and crotch length =) on: August 06, 2010 07:23:58 PM
I am needing help with in-seam measurements and crotch length measurements. I was wondering if there is anywhere I can get 'average' measurements for these for baby and toddler sizes. I don't have any clothes of my son's that I can use apart from size 1-2, if anyone can help me out I would really appreciate it.
3  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / Awesome Colour Photo! on: July 07, 2010 09:43:25 PM
So I'm not really sure if this is in the right place but oh well. My friend and I took my son to Science Alive, not really sure how to explain what it is, but it has heaps of cool science-y stuff there, and while i was there I took a few photos and tried my camera out with a bit of long exposure in the glow in the dark mini golf area. So anyway, here they are:

This is my favourite, My head and then my friend put her arms in too. These lights were awesome I want to go back and get some more photos like this and print them onto canvas.

Long Exposure, not very good since I had to hold the camera myself, the blue is my sons sleeves (He's trying to play mini golf)

Another Long exposure
4  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / My New Laptop bag on: May 15, 2010 01:17:20 AM
So I was on here one day and saw all the awesome laptop sleeves and thought to myself, "I don't like my laptop case, but I don't want just a sleeve, I will make a bag instead." The thought left my mind for a while but while I was in the local fabric shop today,I saw this gorgeous fabric and thought "LAPTOP BAG!!" and this is what happened:

Look at the cool fabric

Elastic top pocket for cords

Zippered Pocket

I was thinking as I was making that this could work as a nappy bag too. My pregnant sister came around while I was making it and she thought that was what I was making...So two options for it really
5  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / St Pats day hat on: March 16, 2010 08:25:57 PM
not sure if this should go here or in costumes, but i will put it here for now.

I made this hat for a dress up for St Patrick's day at university, I also made a skirt but don't have any pictures of me in them yet, so for now, you will have to do with a picture of my son and the hat, which looks cuter on him anyway.  Smiley

6  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Shirred summer top/dress on: December 15, 2009 06:10:56 PM
Because i am lucky enough to be going away this summer to somewhere were it is actually warm (I live at the bottom of the South Island of New Zealand, it is very lucky to get extremely hot in my home town) i decided i was going to make a dress, i had this fabric lying around after making a  skirt and thought it would be perfect.

It was originally going to be a tiered dress with more that 3 tiers, but it looked funny so i made it into this:

it turns out as more of a top of me, but can still be worn with leggings underneath to make it a dress, should have made it longer =)

7  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / tree of life pendant!! my first jewelry item!! on: August 01, 2009 05:36:59 PM
i have been looking almost everywhere on this site and have been so amazed by all the wonderful things people are making, i normally just sew, but since finding this site a few months back i have started crocheting and now this!!!!!!...

so i read somewhere on here yesterday that these pendants weren't exactly good for beginners to try making...well check out what this beginner whipped up in about 30 mins....not bad considering it was my first time ever working with making jewelry and using wires etc....the stones are pink stones, i would love to say they are rose quartz but unfortunately i didn't have enough money for rose quartz this time (at the shop where i buy my craft items they had containers with diff sized quartz and it was $22..not expensive but $3 for the stones i got sure was better lol)

8  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / yay my first post!!! cute dress EDIT: have proper pic up now on: July 13, 2009 05:10:24 PM
So i have been looking around here for ages!!! finally made an account and decided i would show off this cute wee dress that i made in the weekend...it took me a day to make. I changed a few things on the pattern, around the skirt there was meant to be gathering, but gathering and me don't go well together, i can gather fine, but it look hideous on me lol. Also, where i have put the pink the pattern didn't say anything about using contrast fabric, but i wanted to lol.
here's the link, it won't let me put the pic up so will have to go to link =)

let me know what you think  Smiley
