2  "Rainbow ice cream" swirl soap and a few others in Bath and Beauty: Completed Projects by donnevita on: July 31, 2010 04:13:12 PM
Heres just a few recent soaps that I made! The first one is inspired by my favourite rainbow ice cream, I used the same colours as the ice cream. Im not sure why the yellow looks a little bit like cracked earth? Its scented with Love Spell.

Lime coconut soap, its the first time I did layers and the green mica ontop is a little bit of a fail... I guess I could just wipe it off.

Oatmeal milk and honey with some added oatmeal. Its got yummy shea butter in it!

And finally awesome musk lolly flavoured striped lipbalm that I made with my bff! Smells delicious! Just like the real thing!

3  Re: Potholder Swap Gallery ~ Sendouts 6/30 in The Swap Gallery by donnevita on: July 09, 2010 05:28:47 AM
Yay I got my package from Kwiltykate today! I love it all... cutest fabrics! I got 2 pot holders, 1 mitt, a cute little purse that has strawberry fabric, cotton (actually the cotton is pretty awesome cos my local craft store ran out of white and I was sad so now Im happy!), some cute kitty fabric and green and gold peanut m&ms (go team!) hehe I kinda cracked into them as soon as I saw them!

Heres some pics: (sadly some silly drunk girl got ice tea on her new camera... at least the trusty iphone doesnt take terrible photos)

The backs

Kitties!!

How sweet are kitten fairys?! I think the mitt looks like a heart Smiley

4  First time swirling and adjustable wooden soap mold in Bath and Beauty: Completed Projects by donnevita on: June 08, 2010 12:37:01 AM
Hello all... Im pleased to present my second ever cp soap batch and first time swirl attempt! I think it went pretty well! Despite not checking if the cup I measured the lye in was totally dry and therefore its probably more superfatted than I intended...

My bf also made me a wooden log soap mold that is adjustable, so it can make up to 1.5kgs or 54 ounces of soap... I thought that was pretty nifty of him so I thought I would share that too.

I scented with lime EO

Heres the mold, the block that goes in as the end of the mold is held on by a 2 inch clamp and as you can see from the success of the above batch - it works! Oh and I used baking paper as freezer paper isnt sold here and that seemed to be suitable too.

I just had to include this pic of him sanding it down (cos I think he looks cute) hehe

5  Re: Make Me a Purse Then Fill It-- Gallery in The Swap Gallery by donnevita on: June 03, 2010 12:57:25 AM
I got my package from Mod35tBabe today! I had to quickly take photos before my camera demanded to be charged! It smelt like mints! She made a really awesome origami envelope too! Your so clever Stef!

Heres a pic of everything together:

Little pouch with mints inside! I like the use of the cool machine stitches Tongue

Close up of some of one of the adorable kitty appliques

And an inside pic... theres a little pocket with more mints! Hehe

Thanks so much Stef! Yours is still being lovingly crafted I promise! Infact I'll go do a little more now!

6  Re: The random soapy babble thread in Bath and Beauty: Discussion and Questions by donnevita on: May 23, 2010 02:46:46 AM
I just lost my cp soapginity! I used the basic recipe from The Everything Soapmaking Book... I even worked in ounces! hehe

I couldnt bare to not scent it... so its kumquat! I wanna make more! I wanna use it!!

Heres a photo of them curing in a draw... They look odd in the photo but as far as I can tell they look normal enough in person. There was an air bubble or two though Sad

7  In bloom with sleepy bear in Projects from The Happy Hooker by Debbie Stoller by donnevita on: May 10, 2010 12:49:37 AM
I made a bear instead of a flower... I think it looks a little bit like a koala but that wasn't intentional! I used an acrylic yarn from Lincraft thats called "surprise yarn" in blues/browns. I love this yarn the colours are awesome! Its pretty soft too.

The photo was taken after I handwashed it. I lined it dodgedly with blue fabric... need to work on sewing skills! Oh and photo skills.. but lets just pretend this was intentional and arty Cheesy

8  Re: Rainbow Eyes Tutorial (img heavy) Updated with products! in Bath and Beauty: Completed Projects by donnevita on: May 08, 2010 06:16:20 AM
Thanks for the inspiration teapotdnky! When I did my make up to go out tonight I decided to try rainbowing my eyes with what I have... dont have yellow but I have gold, close enough! I more used the purple to line under my eyes and I didnt go unto my upper lid as its not really my style... I like to just darken the crease of my lids and put a gentle shimmer on my upper lids.

I found it hard to blend colours when so many are used individually on one lid! Also found it hard to get good proportions.. Practice makes perfect I guess?

Heres 2 photos of what I did:

10  Massage bars and lip balm fun in Bath and Beauty: Completed Projects by donnevita on: April 30, 2010 06:10:10 AM
Kinda went on a crafting spree... thought I would share!

Spelling (kind of) with bath and beauty goodies! Oh and my current (and first!) knitting project as a back ground.

The tiny tube is my a little too shamrock green mint lip balm and the big one is caramel olive & shea lip balm... Im proud of that one I think the colour is pretty caramely and I poured that particular one perfectly! Yay!

These are massage bars setting up.. I just love they way they look! The heart in the middle of the top photo is how they look now. My bf doesnt think they are oily enough for his particular massaging tastes but I actually really like it and it makes my skin feel nice and soft! Its lightly scented with coconut FO, mostly smells of beeswax!

Oh and that soap up in the first photo is just summer melon scented shea MP I made for mothers day.
