1  Re: One Tiny Holiday Ornament Gallery! in The Swap Gallery by mightyminniemouse on: October 29, 2013 03:45:13 PM
So, I actually received a few days ago but this is the first time I've had to post pics in a while. Thanks to Withchippe, my daughter (the huge Dragon Age video game nerd) has the cutest star ornament complete with Christmas Tree and dragonling.

She can't wait to get started on a Dragon Age themed tree this year Grin

Am I really the first to receive? And I've been so spoiled too!

Look at it all and be jealous! I was going to take a pic of it all wrapped up but the battery on the camera died and I'm just too impatient to wait  Grin

For my soon-to-be Doctor themed bathroom I bring you my new Don't Blink washcloth and DW embroidered bath and hand towels. They feel even softer than they look!

Ignoring my horrible picture taking skills, I present two great new hooplas  and "Oy! Watch it Spaceman!" coffee mug.

More bling for my walls, a laminate copy of the Public Call Box notice, a great Master cork board, and River Song quote.

Here we have a melted record bowl decorated with both of my favourite men...I mean Doctors (sorry son and hubby Cheesy) And although you can't see it in the pic, Hello Sweetie is on the inside as well. There's also some really cool cork coasters, the only bought items in the whole thing.

Vinyl wall art to go on my bathroom wall. "Oy! Watch it Spaceman", "Allons-y", and "Don't blink. Blink and you're dead"

And last but not least, some cool 10th Doctor buttons and magnets, a Tardis key on a chain and new DW themed patches for future projects.

I LOVE MY SWAP PARTNER! Also a quick thank you to shdwstrm who actually knitted the Cassandra wallhanging that was mounted by GringHouseHussy19. It might actually be one of my favourites.

4  Homage to a Beautiful Merida/Jack Frost in Costumes: Completed Projects by mightyminniemouse on: August 25, 2013 03:17:40 PM
So, for everybody who lives in Southern Ontario- and probably most of Canada- it's FanExpo weekend in Toronto and two of my girls were going this year.

The older of the two has known she was going for months, while the other had about two weeks notice that she'd have the money for it. And when the elder chose this beautiful picture of Jack Frost as her inspiration, the other went with Merida from the same picture. http://www.deviantart.com/art/seasons-388605093

Jack was made completely by my daughter herself, while Merida was mostly my work with a little help from "Jack"

5  Re: Art Dolls 2 - Send out July 7th in The Swap Gallery by mightyminniemouse on: July 15, 2013 03:42:16 PM

This is Grae, a beautiful primitive/folk art faerie that I received from fancybutch. You can't really see it in this pic, but the fabric has random embroidery and some cute little black buttons along the bottom. She now sits proudly on my display shelf amongst my other dolls and swap swag, and away from my cat who seems to believe that the doll is hers  Grin

Thanks fancybutch!

6  Re: Holmes for the Holiday Swap Gallery in The Swap Gallery by mightyminniemouse on: December 17, 2012 03:29:54 PM
So I received my package today, but I don't know who sent it! There was no name attached and even the address label was damaged so I couldn't read the name.

This was what I saw first

Good start good start. Then came this from inside

A great little tote bag, perfect for my Sir Arthur Conan Doyle books!
And who's on the front? Why, it's Sherlocke and John in adorable cross stitch

Thank you whoever you are! I love my package!

7  Re: Christmas Stocking Swap Round 8 Gallery in The Swap Gallery by mightyminniemouse on: December 05, 2012 04:24:37 AM
According to Canada Post, my partner received yesterday so I'm just waiting for her to confirm that and post pictures.  A little nervous as I signed up for a small package this year and it's going to look very tiny compared to some of the other packages.

Oh Hush! Everything is absolutely wonderful, I just didn't get a chance to post last night. Grin

I got too excited to wait to take a pic while everything was still wrapped, but it was so much fun to rip and shred my gifts free.

Here it all is in all it's glory!

My beautiful jingle bell elf stocking with fuzzy-wuzzy socks ( my last pair the hubby stole so I'm hoping I get to keep these for a while)

A family's worth of fabric coasters that I'm afraid to get dirty, some adorable felt Christmas ornaments that have already made it to the tree, and a HUGE chocolate bar that is now hidden from everybody in the house.

Last but not least, a really cool pencil/notions case that is covered in decorative zippers, and the coolest Big Bang Theory cross stitch. Apparently, Homerof2 isn't a fan, and so her loved ones picked on while she worked. Here are some virtual hugs for all your hard work...*hug*

MERRY CHRISTMAS!

8  Lady Mary Victoria in Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects by mightyminniemouse on: December 03, 2012 09:50:39 AM
So I wanted to share a new project I've been working on. This is Lady Mary Victoria, a doorstop doll made almost completely of recycled materials.

Her base is fill with sugar for weight. Cat litter or sand is better, but this was all that I had at hand at the moment. Her flesh was once an old bed sheet, her clothing is made from a recycled nightgown and quilting scraps. Even her stuffing came from a throw pillow that the cat hated and tore to shreds.

She still needs a bit of work around the hands, but I just couldn't wait to share her!

9  Paging Doctor Psycho! in Halloween Costumes by mightyminniemouse on: November 01, 2012 10:29:00 AM
So my son tells me at the last minute that he's going to need a costume for a party after all. So what's a mom to do with the little that's in her house? She creates "Doctor Psycho" of course!

Luckily I had a really old pair of scrubs and an eighties white jacket that looked enough like a lab coat to pass. A reflector was made with an old CD hot glued to a fabric headband and the name tag is just a blank business card glued to a pin back.

Then the whole lot was "bloodied" with red paint a mixture of gel food colouring and water. For the photos he also posed with a butter knife "scalpel" but that stayed home with me.

And when I say this was last minute, I mean it! Had to blow dry the blood stains ten minutes before he left! Grin

10  Re: Art Doll Swap - Sendouts 10/05/12 in The Swap Gallery by mightyminniemouse on: October 31, 2012 08:00:19 AM
First I want to appologize to Smmarrt and dessadoll. After much fighting with Canada Post to get this doll delivered, I was struck down by a case of appendicitis and the poor thing languished at the post office for days. But here she is in all her glory ( and bad photos because my hands are still a little shaky)

The Countess Fedilia Cicily Plumbe, Keeper of the key to the Realm of Fairies.

I love her hair! And all her little gears! And dessa sent a few left overs and some of her blouse fabric, which will be used for Fedilia's sister very soon.

Thanks dessa! Sorry it took so long!
