1  REUSING/RECYCLING/RECRAFTING / What the heck can I do with THIS? / Re: okay, tampon BOXES on: March 16, 2011 10:57:58 PM
Hmm an organizer could work well. I'm doing a craft show soon, so maybe I could deck it out an make it all un-tampony. haha
2  REUSING/RECYCLING/RECRAFTING / What the heck can I do with THIS? / okay, tampon BOXES on: March 15, 2011 11:01:13 PM
I recently bought a TON of tampons (6 boxes, and I got em Fo free!) using coupons..
So I decided to put them all in one holder, and keep the boxes for crafty goodness. What should I do with them?!

Here's a pic, you can kinda see the cool lip thing.

Any ideas?
3  REUSING/RECYCLING/RECRAFTING / What the heck can I do with THIS? / Re: Old bras... on: March 12, 2011 10:54:49 PM
You could make like a cute little clamshell looking clutch out of it, with an optional chain strap. i think if you used a kiss closure, the kind with the interlocking balls, it could look pretty classy Smiley Just make it look not like a bra!
4  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Re: Spring Break and T-Shirt TIME! on: March 12, 2011 09:21:45 PM
Basically, I just cut a huge 16 inch circle out of a t shirt, and cut 2 inches off of the sleeve. If you use the sleeve as the headband, you can make the hem your finished hem. Then, I just pleated the circle around the hem and sewed Smiley

It's super easy!

Okay, so after realizing I only have a month until the craft fair I am doing, and 2 months until I graduate high school, I looked at my extensive T-shirt collection in panic. These all have GOT to go..
Hence, the t-shirt beanie Smiley
Sorry for the super awkward head pictures. It's hard to take a picture of my big head!

There's me with it on.

Here's the back. We're the Duncan Demons, and we live in the Bible Belt.. This is still such a mystery to me.

And here is Enrique:

Such a malicious looking mascot.

Well, let me know what you guys think. Do you think they'll sell at the show? I'm promoting grad gifts!
6  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / An old t.v. + hot glue = jewelry box on: December 19, 2010 09:48:23 PM
I am a sucker for anything under two dollars, so when I saw this old t.v. for 1.99 I had to buy it. Lucky for me, I had some old produce containers, hot glue, and fabric lying around.

Put it all together and here's what you get!

On the inside I glued tiny hooks used to hold individual Christmas light bulbs to hang necklaces, and made a ring holder but cutting foam and covering it with fabric. In the very back where it has the odd squarish shape sticking out I placed more foam to poke earrings in!

I wish I would have gotten better pictures, but I had to give it as a secret Santa present the next day and stayed up until the wee hours working on it.

Let me know what you guys think! I'm thinking about selling them on etsy so let me know!

hmmm.
Well there are some really cool gift card designs out there.
Would old gift cards work?
8  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Re: The Red Zebra Wallet. on: January 07, 2010 05:49:48 PM

Funny thing: I got my hair cut at the red zebra today. Smiley

There is a hair salon in town called the Red Zebra.
To me, it always reminded me of the Movie Gypsy...

Ladies go in there all dressed up and covered like the wallet below

She notices it's extremely hot in here. She takes a little off, just to be comfortable.

Then it heats up more, and she lets go a little more. Gets a little more risque if you will.

Then she is free of all her inhibitions and goes wild. Her true colors show.

What does the inside mean?
She's responsible (AAA card) she likes to create beautiful wallets (Jo Ann's Gift Card), and alas, she has very little money.

Smiley
Comments and Criticism please!

P.s. I hope you liked my story.. I think her name might be Eloise.
Or Fran Fine  Smiley
10  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / I like to call this one the Katy Perry on: January 03, 2010 09:07:53 PM
It reminds me of Cherry  Chapstick and Pinup Girls Smiley

Here's the front:

Here is the bow detail Smiley

The white detail on the front is actually the start of a pocket:

here's all of the lovely pockets so I can (try to) stay organized

Here's just some more detail Smiley

That one is pretty nifty, it has a zippered pocket, and a pocket behind that Smiley

and here is the little side pocket thing filled up

These pictures are pretty much true to color, except the bow detail one!
The top does zip up, but I have to fix it!
