1  okay, tampon BOXES in What the heck can I do with THIS? by curiocait on: March 15, 2011 11:01:13 PM
I recently bought a TON of tampons (6 boxes, and I got em Fo free!) using coupons..
So I decided to put them all in one holder, and keep the boxes for crafty goodness. What should I do with them?!

Here's a pic, you can kinda see the cool lip thing.

Any ideas?

2  Spring Break and T-Shirt TIME! in Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by curiocait on: March 12, 2011 08:03:42 PM
Okay, so after realizing I only have a month until the craft fair I am doing, and 2 months until I graduate high school, I looked at my extensive T-shirt collection in panic. These all have GOT to go..
Hence, the t-shirt beanie Smiley
Sorry for the super awkward head pictures. It's hard to take a picture of my big head!

There's me with it on.

Here's the back. We're the Duncan Demons, and we live in the Bible Belt.. This is still such a mystery to me.

And here is Enrique:

Such a malicious looking mascot.

Well, let me know what you guys think. Do you think they'll sell at the show? I'm promoting grad gifts!

3  An old t.v. + hot glue = jewelry box in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by curiocait on: December 19, 2010 09:48:23 PM
I am a sucker for anything under two dollars, so when I saw this old t.v. for 1.99 I had to buy it. Lucky for me, I had some old produce containers, hot glue, and fabric lying around.

Put it all together and here's what you get!

On the inside I glued tiny hooks used to hold individual Christmas light bulbs to hang necklaces, and made a ring holder but cutting foam and covering it with fabric. In the very back where it has the odd squarish shape sticking out I placed more foam to poke earrings in!

I wish I would have gotten better pictures, but I had to give it as a secret Santa present the next day and stayed up until the wee hours working on it.

Let me know what you guys think! I'm thinking about selling them on etsy so let me know!

4  The Red Zebra Wallet. in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by curiocait on: January 06, 2010 12:02:07 AM
There is a hair salon in town called the Red Zebra.
To me, it always reminded me of the Movie Gypsy...

Ladies go in there all dressed up and covered like the wallet below

She notices it's extremely hot in here. She takes a little off, just to be comfortable.

Then it heats up more, and she lets go a little more. Gets a little more risque if you will.

Then she is free of all her inhibitions and goes wild. Her true colors show.

What does the inside mean?
She's responsible (AAA card) she likes to create beautiful wallets (Jo Ann's Gift Card), and alas, she has very little money.

Smiley
Comments and Criticism please!

P.s. I hope you liked my story.. I think her name might be Eloise.
Or Fran Fine  Smiley

5  I like to call this one the Katy Perry in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by curiocait on: January 03, 2010 09:07:53 PM
It reminds me of Cherry  Chapstick and Pinup Girls Smiley

Here's the front:

Here is the bow detail Smiley

The white detail on the front is actually the start of a pocket:

here's all of the lovely pockets so I can (try to) stay organized

Here's just some more detail Smiley

That one is pretty nifty, it has a zippered pocket, and a pocket behind that Smiley

and here is the little side pocket thing filled up

These pictures are pretty much true to color, except the bow detail one!
The top does zip up, but I have to fix it!
Comments and Criticism Welcome...
In fact please do criticize! It helps me a lot!

6  From boring black dress to awesome one shoulder bow dress!! in Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by curiocait on: December 08, 2009 08:33:39 PM

There it is. It was just a plain long black strapless dress. I added a strap on one side that is sewn at parts to have bows in it. like THIS

that part just goes over the shoulder and repeats in the back ;

And here's a close up on the added fabric to cover the ladies Smiley

You can see my double chin AND the bow kinda.
The theme of the dance is a Black Tie Affair. Any ideas on how I can jazz up the bows and make them a little more obvious and funky?

Lemme know what you think!

9  Pleated Wallet in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by curiocait on: November 29, 2009 08:23:09 PM
I am wallet crazy lately! Here's my latest & favorite!!

It has horizontal pleats on the flap, and a pearl snap!

Here's an  inner pocket that also has pleats

Here's a better view of how the flap is attatched and the inner pocket and card holder

Here is the pockets held open

My sister took all these pictures cause I'm a disaster with a camera. I got the inspiration from this pleated clutch http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=24610.0 & the rough details of a wallet from this tutorial http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=328873.0, though it has morphed into almost a mutant.
This is like the X Man version of that wallet. Kinda the same but pretty different too. Smiley

Please let me know what you think and how I can improve
