Hey I'd be interested in joining, I am a pretty obsessed knitter and looking to meet other crafty minded people. Only I am not moving to Winnipeg until December for school  Sad So let me know, but I'll join for sure in the winter.

What size did you make?

I made the 16 which I thought would be right since I didn't measure it myself, I got my boyfriend to do it. Oh well. It's a bit snug but the yarn has since stretched out a little so it looks less like a sausage case. When I make the next one I'll probably try a 17.

What about Ladyfest? http://www.ladyfest.org/

I am not sure if it's happening in Toronto this year...it might need an organzier? But last year the Toronto Ladyfest was in October. I didn't go last year because I had to work that weekend and it folded up early, so I don't what it's really like... *shrugs* It's just a suggestion.  Undecided
8  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / Re: Crochet patterns for men on: July 29, 2005 12:34:04 PM
You mean he just generally wants to make things that aren't as frilly?  Or that he is looking for patterns to make stuff for himself (sweaters, hats, etc.)?

Sorry I should have been more clear, he's interested in patterns for himself. Right now he's making a scarf for me, but he's wanting to make things for himself in the future (that aren't scarfs).

Thank you both!

Hey all,

I am asking for your help please with finding crochet patterns for men. My boyfriend has just started crocheting and is getting fed up with the girly crochet patterns. So, does anyone have any possible man patterns please?

Hey Hun,

I did a little searching for you and this is the best I could find. I believe this is more of a borello than a shrug actually. Most of the things I found where shurgs and you could possibly just add a few more increases and make it a borello? You'll have to ask the other crafters about that one though  Wink:

These two are probably the closest you'll find to what you are looking for:

(For this one just try and use the pattern as a guideline and do it in a lace pattern instead of St st.

(The Summer Interweave has a shrug called Viennese that might work too)

(And this last one is a long shot)

Hope that helped a little! Incase you were unaware there are a lot of free pattern resource sites available, here's a few for you to bookmark for the future:
