1  pet silhouettes in Pet-Related Crafts: Completed Projects by enjoi on: June 29, 2009 01:19:25 PM
i'm sure a million of these have been posted, but here's my version.  i made these earlier today, using two matted frames i purchased at goodwill for 99 cents each.  i painted one coat of green paint (to expose a little wood) and used leftover black canson paper to cut out their silhouettes.

i have a pug and a sheltie-pomeranian.

2  dixie cup pendant light in Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General by enjoi on: June 26, 2009 09:46:51 PM
i wanted to create something that looked expensive, modern, but all the while super super cheap.
it's 180 plastic clear dixie cups stapled together.  before stapling the last two cups in place i spray painted it white used a light kit i purchased for $2 at pier one (usually used for their paper lanterns) and attached a compact flourescent bulb, placed it inside the sphere, then stapled the remaning two cups in place.

i think the result is pretty good.  going to hang it in the corner of my bedroom tomorrow.  i found the light kit on clearance, so all together this cost me $7.
