1  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / Button christmas hairband on: November 28, 2009 07:43:07 AM
I had a bit of christmas fabric left over from making our stockings and im fed up with people calling my daughter a boy just because she is slightly on the bald side! I ran this up in about half an hour, it looks slightly wonky as she has slight flat head, I will perhaps put a stitch in to compensate for this!

2  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / George the Sock monkey on: August 13, 2009 12:21:40 PM
I'm sure there are loads of posts on here about sock monkeys but just wanted to show off how happy my daughter is with her sock monkey, she has literally been squealing with pleasure! I made the eyes out of felt as I felt buttons were a bit of a choking hazard.

I usually make the English style fairycakes, I have never attempted the american style cupcake-I am having a picnic on Saturday and would like to make some pretty cupcakes for the adults. Does anyone have any failsafe recipies? Any tips? I am using an electric fan oven which can be a bit tempremental. thanks!
5  SEWING IN GENERAL / Sewing Machines: Discussion and Questions / Complete newbie with a singer serenade on: June 29, 2009 11:02:14 AM
Due to the completely rubbish instructions I am having problems with my singer. The bottom thread snaps as I am sewing after 1 or 2 stitches. The manual says to adjust the upper or lower tension, how do i know which way to adjust it? I dont think it needs to be any tighter? I assume it needs to be loosened?
