1  *Now with Pictures!* faux-wood flooring samples turned woodland coaster set in Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General by nicoleburdsall on: September 10, 2012 05:16:25 AM
*Edit* It would help if there were pictures, huh? My bad...

I actually work at Home Depot, so don't tell my boss this is what I was doing with all those stolen free samples. I saw them one day and immediately knew I had to draw an owl on them! Although I like how the raccoon turned out the best, I think. It's just gesso, sharpie, and a resin spray, and then I glued some felt to the bottom. It was a great easy craft and a way to get myself back into crafting. I have been awful at getting myself to do it since I got this job.

I suddenly have a TON to post! I just finished my drawing 2 class and this is (most) of the result.

These are origami butterflies done in pastel. It took me FOR.EV.ER. But I'm happy with the results, so... worth it, I GUESS... lol

Self Portrait in black and white colored pencils. This is apparently the face I make naturally, which made it easy to not change my face as I drew.

Skeleton still life in pastel.

(And the rest I'll post as thumbnails, because I could take up far too much space.)

Drapery in charcoal

I also made a dreamcatcher out of reclaimed materials (a bangle, broken earrings, etc.)

Flower hair clips.

Aaaand a necklace made from an old french book page and a circular piece of glass I found in a light fixture we were trashing. I was so excited to wear this today Cheesy

And that's "all" for now! ^.^

3  Recycled material dreamcatcher in Completed Projects by nicoleburdsall on: March 21, 2012 10:08:03 PM
This was made from an old bangle and bits of broken earrings, along with some various beads and a wire circle for the middle. I'm actually really happy with it, especially since it's reclaimed materials!

4  The culmination of my drawing 2 class in More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works by nicoleburdsall on: March 21, 2012 10:01:47 PM
Origami butterflies (pastel). This was a HUGE pain, but it was the first 100% I got!

Self portrait (Black and white colored pencil). This is just the face that requires no muscle effort, so I knew I wouldn't change my expression as I drew  Grin

5  Glass peace sign vintage book necklace in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by nicoleburdsall on: March 21, 2012 09:50:54 PM

I found 3 of these circular pieces of glass in some light fixtures we were trashing, and they were too cool to let go to waste. Then I found this old french book page at a local antique store and I just thought it was perfect. I'm pretty happy with how it turned out. My boyfriend was even so sweet as to say it looked "professional," which honestly isn't saying much from him  Roll Eyes But as long as he (and I) liked it, that's good enough for me!

6  Re: Doctor Who Craftalong 2012 in Craftalongs by nicoleburdsall on: February 23, 2012 11:05:15 PM
I was in the most recent one tiny Dr. Who swap. My partner liked the 9th doctor and liked little bits of art, so this was what I came up with. It's got more of a 3d look to it than this shows; the doctor is further forward than the rest.

I haven't been responding (pretty much at all) because it just gets overwhelming when I have to catch up on 10 pages at a time... but I've been stalking the board a lot and felt like chiming in finally.

That painting is wonderful :] I'm terrible with watercolors, but you did a fantastic job!

The spoons are also really pretty! And I LOVE the idea of using book page flowers for a wedding! Super cute Cheesy

And on the topic of Dr. Who, EVERYONE should watch it! It's such a great series once you get into it. Also, I was in the DW swap, so maybe I'll count that project as one of my 50 (since it's been a slow year for crafting so far...) So I give you, number 9. It's actually got more depth than this shows (the drawing is more forward than the rest)

I think I'm also going to count all my drawing homework from this quarter as one project, so at the end of the quarter I'll probably share most of those.

8  Re: One Tiny Doctor Who Thing Gallery in The Swap Gallery by nicoleburdsall on: February 01, 2012 05:00:50 PM
I received from Chameleonhound! Such wonderful timey wimeyness!

First of all, the card and the package. My favorite color is rainbow, and she ran with it even in her packaging! And the card is #11 with Amy and Rory!

Then the box! I'm going to have to find something awesome to keep in it.

And finally...

The cutest polymer clay charm necklace ever! (From left to right: bow tie [Bow ties are cool!], weeping angel [my favorite episodes!], "wibbly wobbley, timey whimey... stuff." [my FAVORITE quote], dalek [probably the most lovable of the villians], and, of course, a tardis!) And again, she totally used my favorite "color." She suggested in the card that I may want to use the pendants separately, which would hypothetically mean 5x the awesome!

Thank you so much Chameleonhound! I will love it forever!
