1  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / Getting nowhere fast. on: October 02, 2010 10:39:50 AM
So I'm trying to make a giant granny square blanket. And I realized its not getting as big as fast as I think it should. I realized I am only doing five shells in one round then four in the next. And all the giant granny square blankets I've seen have a WHOLE lot more than that. But I don't know how to do it! Help Please!
2  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / I'm having the hardest time with this yarn! on: October 01, 2010 10:43:06 AM

Its like the really soft pipe cleaners.
My granny square is all lopsided
3  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Discussion and Questions / PonyTail Holders? on: July 14, 2009 04:34:29 PM
Stretched out ponytail holders?
I have A MILLION of them! I have really thick hair so they stretch out fast.
Any Ideas?
4  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / Would this look ok?? on: June 24, 2009 12:30:57 PM
So I am making a kingsized blanket out of three shades of blue.
I know I am going to make it in strips (do a bunch of strips and then put them together.)
But I didn't know if it would look ok to change color in the middle of the strips randomly or do like blocks or if it would look best to do all the strips solid.
5  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Discussion and Questions / Chess set? on: June 24, 2009 07:53:51 AM
So my fabtabolous boyfriend is having a birthday soon. He is getting me the latest Macbookpro for my birthday so I want to get him something nice too.
I already got him a humidor, but it was really cheap cause the makers were going out of buisness.
He really likes chess so I want to make him a chess set but have no Idea of how to go about it.
He is active duty infantry, and loves call of duty.
A few months before his birthday he is getting stationed several states away.
I was thinking just taking a regular chessboard and using pictures of our fav places and mod podgeing them on. Black and white photos for the black squares and color photos for the white squares. But other than that I dont know what to do for the peices.
HELP PLEASE!?
6  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / Crochet Rows MessUP!! on: June 22, 2009 11:51:18 AM
I haven't crocheted in a while and recently picked it back up to make my boyfriend a blanket....
I was planning on doing a random color switch of three blues and doing just long strips and then connecting them all together....
Everything was going great till I got about 7 or 8 rows in...
I noticed my rows weren't all the same length! The ends of the rows were all one or two off from the one before it. SO it looked like a zigzag!
Anyone know what I did wrong?
7  HOME SWEET HOME / Interior Decorating: Discussion and Questions / Very Young Army Couple House on: June 21, 2009 08:38:32 PM
So I am 17 and my Fiance to be is 20. He has been active duty Army for three years now, and been deployed twice.
In July he is getting stationed in Ft.Bliss, TX (several states away!), and in a few months will have an off base apartment. I  am moving out there in a year when I graduate.
Thing is we are both very humorous. And of course all his Army buddies are too!
We decided we wanted to decorate (in smallish amounts, hell go ahead and make it HUGE amounts) our apartment in you got it pornish/mature/adult/risque content.
I already decided a porn shower curtain (which I am also making his best friend [Also active duty&two deployments] one for his 21 birthday). I plan on just buying a plan shower curtain and using Iron transfers.
Also thinking of doing very tasteful framed pictures of pinups for the livingroom.
But other than that I am stuck!
Any ideas???
