My dad always gets free things when he goes to conferences. Usually he comes back with a few blank journals and books. A lot of them are very fancy, like there have been a few with leather professional covers. This is perfect because I love journals, but I can't fill them up! Near the end of freshman year, my best friend Maria and I had been writing long letters to eachother when we had nothing better to do and gave them to eachother when we saw eachother in the hallway or at lunch. We didn't have any classes together so it was a great way to say stuff without the fear of someone listening to us and it gave us something to do during boring classes. We kept collecting all of these folded up notes and it was getting annoying so I decided we just pass a journal back and forth instead. She thought it was a great idea. I don't have a picture of what it looked like before, but it pretty much just looked like a hard-back dark blue book and it was very plain. I wrote in it and I gave it to her. She decided that she could decorate it. By the way, she isn't very artistic. And neither am I, really.)
The next day we went to her locker and she showed me how she "decorated" it. (She knew it was ugly, don't worry)

It was actually more hideous in real life. I laughed hysterically. I needed to fix it. I only got that one picture because I had already taken off some off the FEATHERS she hot glued on there. I tried yanking everything off, but I did not succeed. I eventually had to just rip off the plastic fabric with an exacto knife and just left a cardboard case over the pages. Then, I covered with thick white paper and modge-podged some ripped aqua colored wrapping paper. It still looked boring so I used black construction paper and decorated it. Then, I modge-podged the whole thing again so it would look good.

i liked the tree but was too lazy to put it on the other side but I like it that way:

it's nice and thick for lots of writing. I think it will last at least the next 3 years of high school.

we went to the library one day because they have an "art class" once a month and the first one was watercolor painting. It was supposed to be for 7th through 12th graders, but we were obviously the oldest ones there, and with the least amount of artistic abilities. We were only allowed one piece of paper each, and I messed mine up so we collaborated and created this. And it fit PERFECTLY into the front cover thingy. *match made in heaven* ahahaha

it looks like any normal book... mwahaha

the lines are a bit wide for me, but it has a nice spot for subject and date

and here is a pretty picture of trees in my backyard!

Thanks for looking!
