1  Tablet Woven Bands in Weaving: Completed Projects by mirth_matter on: July 24, 2009 04:53:57 PM
I've been lurking about Craftster for nearly two years, and now I actually have something to share: my tablet weaving. Tongue I'm a member of the SCA, and taught myself how to weave using instructions off the internet after seeing what some of my friends were making.

My very first band, made with a wool warp and crochet cotton weft. Pattern from http://members.shaw.ca/evethejust/index.html.

My second band, and first on an actual loom. Also wool warp and crochet cotton weft.

Third band, done all in crochet cotton, and my first foray into patterns with cards turning different directions. Pattern from http://www.guntram.co.za/tabletweaving/.

Fourth band, all in crochet cotton, and made to use up string.

The latest band I've completed, done all in fine wool that I dyed myself with natural dyes. Pattern from http://www.shelaghlewins.com/tablet_weaving/Birka_twine/Birka_01.htm.

Finally, a close up of some garters I made in a day, using wool I dyed myself.
