Gorgeous, Gorgeous!

I haven't been spinning much as I've been carding batts and actually started knitting more! Therefore these yarns all have a purpose in mind for a change! Also we recently started some home improvement projects...mainly tearing down wallpaper in the kitchen and getting ready to put in some additional cupboards/countertops, a breakfast/wine bar, paint, etc. so not much night time spinning time BUT here are a few from the last few weeks:

Corspun from a Traveling Rhinos batt. My favorite color combo, I'm thinking GPS cozy!!!

From fiber by Kristin of All Spun Up, custom colorway, 8oz. 2 ply LOTS of yardage...and it's currently a tangled mess because I went to use it and yeah... EEEK! I think once it's untangled it's going to be a baby surprise jacket!

Corespun merino, alpaca, shetland bamboo from some batts I made...going to be a hat!

All Spun Up Merino single...for Huh but I LOVE it!

Also in case anyone is interested a couple weeks ago I rearranged my studio a bit, there is a "tour" on my blog, http://uniquelyyoursdesign.blogspot.com/2009/09/tour-of-my-studio.html

Hope everyone has a wonderful and fiber filled weekend...unfortunately I don't see much fiber time in store for me, I think mine is going to be filled with painting and installing...but it will be SO nice when it's done! TGIF!!!

4  Fiber Friday September 18, 2009 in Spinning: Completed Projects by pmpknpunk on: September 18, 2009 07:24:22 AM
Happy Friday! I only have one yarn to share this week but I absolutely love it! It's from CJKopec's August Ravelry Spin-A-Long, but I'm a bit late in finishing. But never the less, here she is:

Also did a couple batts the last few days:

Spiced Pumpkin

and Stormy Skies

Hope everyone has a wonderful Friday and a great weekend! We've got a busy one planned but I can't wait, all fun stuff to do! Irish Fest tonight, Wine Tasting at the Salmon fest tomorrow, and group birthday party at our place Saturday night! TOO much fun...I'm sure I'll have to fit fiber in there somewhere too. Smiley

It's Friday! I have a couple of yarns to share this week.

8oz, Grape Jelly Louet Northern Lights plied with white Corriedale. Spun in the car a few weeks ago (Yes my Lendrum fit in the front seat of my Malibu in working order! WooHoo!!!)

4oz Organic Merino from the Spunky Eclecti club a few months back, Navajo plied.

2 fraternal twin skeins from batts by Liz of Hobbledehoy, 1 is a single and 1 is plied with a commercial bamboo.

Hope everyone has a nice Friday and weekend.

Long time no post. I've been preparing for the Michigan Fiber Festival (my first time vending!) so I've been doing a lot of carding and no spinning. BUT I took a break and was at Camp Pluckyfluff in Chicago last weekend so here are my camp yarns! No names yet, so I will just refer to them by the technique that I was practicing!

Top Row L to R: Crazy batt Bulky Single, Halos/Crescents, and Felted Baubles

Bottom Row L to R: Plying with Coils and Granny Stacks, Mohairy, and Spinning Fabric with Nubs

Happy Friday! I'm gearing up for another weekend at the drum carder, only 2 weeks until the festival! WoooHooo!!!

Happy Friday! I have two to share this week,

First is Go Wings!
Corespun and Autowrapped from my own batts. Approx 50 yards Bulky Weight (6wpi)
Just in time for game 7 tonight!!!

Made from this batt I made containing Merino, Firestar, Angelina, and Pizzaz

And then Plumeria (fiber by FatCatKnits) BFL, Corespun, Approx 110 yards, Worsted Weight (10 wpi)

A tiny bit overspun, but I'm working on trying to make thinner, consistant corespun yarns. I'm loving the results!

Happy Friday!!!

9  Re: Fiber Friday 05.30.09 in Spinning: Completed Projects by pmpknpunk on: May 29, 2009 07:59:35 AM
I'm so happy it's FRIDAY! I know it was a short week, but it was a busy week, I'm ready for a couple days of not working, and hopefully more spinning!

I spent last Sunday here, just spinning, ALL day. Cool breeze, beautiful view of my backyard, and my partner in crime by my side. I was in heaven!

Here are my yarns I have to share this week!

ENVIOUS EYES - from CJKopec's SAL, Approx. 90% Merino and 10% Silk, Corespun, Heavy Worsted to Bulky, 92 yards

ROSE PINK - Corriedale Bulky Singles, 3 skein, 60 yards each

CURIOUS - BFL Singles from fiber dyed by Kristin of All Spun Up, Worsted, Approx. 120 yards

ATHENA - Batts by BohoKnitterChic.etsy.com, Corespun and auto wrapped, Approx 35 yards

BUBBLE GUM SWIRL - Targhee, Bamboo, and Firestar Singles from batts I blended myself, 3 skeins, 60 + 60 + 30 yards

SNOWBALLS - 11 yards, supercoils. I was practicing thick and thin, trying to get it consistent, and overspun parts a bit, so I decided to supercoil it instead of wasting it!

I spun two more but didn't get them dried in time to photograph, it's been a rainy week. I guess they will be ready and waiting for next Friday! Have a happy Friday, and a nice weekend!!!

10  Re: Fiber Friday 5.8.09 @#$%*! in Spinning: Completed Projects by pmpknpunk on: May 08, 2009 12:43:26 PM
Happy Friday!!!

First up is 3 "Single Scoop" Corespun yarns. (I call my 1oz. spins single scoops!)

This is "Teddy Bear" From a 2oz batt I blend including Merino, Silk, Shetland, Alpaca, and Angelina. SOOO soft!

And finally my yarn from Jazzturtle's My Little Pony SAL! I plied with some metallic silver bling yarn and added about 2oz total of 4 different colors hand dyed merino and when I came to those stripes of color I made HUGE granny stacks! I had to push them through the orifice on my Lendrum jumbo bobbin then were so big! There are random coils in there too and some humongo spots of glitz and bling! I think I got about 100 yards in the 2 skeins.
