1  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Re: Royal Corset on: July 21, 2010 02:12:27 PM
Well, I always wear corsets every year because I attend renfaire, so I find them pretty comfy.
As for boning, no, there isn't any in it. But it's been coated with modgepoge (puzzle glue) and 4 layers of enamel spray so it's pretty much like a shell. I don't think it really needed boning because of that.

lidehtium says: I love clothing made out of things that clothing isn't 'supposed' to be made of!! Such a fun idea. I like how some of the cards are fronts, and some are the backs. Good job.
Thanks! I plan on making another corset with this kind of design. It will most likely involve some kind of fabric, but expect to see some unusual things  Wink

amazing_784: ...and it's just playing cards, right?!?!

pollyanna on speed: wow. Is it all made out of cards?

Yep. It's all playing cards and about 12 hot glue sticks. I had a paper pattern drawn out so I had an idea of the basic shapes and such.

stellaheartocean: Wow, that is just awesome! I would love to know more about how you made it. If you don't have time to make anything to go with it, it would look amazing over a simple black dress.

Right now I'm just wearing it with shorts/pants, butI do intend to make a simple strapless dress to wear underneath. If you want more details, feel free to PM me.

This was originally supposed to be the top portion to my junior banquet dress, but as it came closer, I just ran out of time. Thsi is my first corset. But, 3 weeks later, and 7 hours later, I present to you-   The Royal Corset

I plan on modgepodge-ing it and spraying it with a couple coats of clear spray enamel.

So I am a HUUUUUGE fan of WTWTA ever since I was little and when I saw that a movie was coming out, I could not help myself but to make his pajamas. This is at the midnight premier in Maryland

And yes, I do actually use these as pajamas, it is extremely warm and cuddly

This is my friend wearing it (excuse him being a whole head taller than me), best way to see full view:

hope you enjoy <3
