11  Knitted Glove in Knitting: Completed Projects by Sally LeStrange on: March 25, 2010 03:29:47 PM
This is my first attempt at a knitted glove. It's not perfect but hey, it's only my first try.

I'm surprised the intarsia looks as good as it does.

12  Knitted Zombie Bear in Knitting: Completed Projects by Sally LeStrange on: March 25, 2010 03:24:02 PM
Well this isn't the finished product, but I couldn't wait to post it:

I'm done with knitting the stomach and I'm going to line it soon. I want to sew the hands/legs on before I line it.

Eyeball, mouth, ear:

Oh? A zipper?

Oh noez! What could be inside it.....

....BRAINS!!!!

It'll be a stuffed animal when I finish it. It was going to double as a bag at first, but I made the stomach too small.

IT'S TRYING TO EAT MY SOUL!!!!!!!

13  Hooded shirt :) in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by Sally LeStrange on: February 02, 2010 04:39:52 PM

This is a shirt that goes all the way down past my but. I wanted to put sleeves on it but I couldn't really figure out how to do it. The zipper goes all the way up to my head.

Picture of me in it. Smiley

15  Knitted sock-slipper-things with a pattern included in Knitting: Completed Projects by Sally LeStrange on: January 07, 2010 12:29:18 PM
I made these for my friend, for her birthday.
I was scared she wouldn't like them, but when she unwrapped them she said "I love these things!"

I knitted them with size nine needles. I used a soft and fuzzy yarn that's a little bit thicker.

Here's what I did:

I knitted the toe in two separate pieces, then sewed them together.
Since the yarn and the needles were big, I only had to cast on 12. Just measure your foot from side to side right under your toes(I guess that would be the widest part of your foot), then cast on that many stitches(a little extra is okay, for the sides. But there doesn't have to be extra, since the yarn will stretch). A lot of the decreasing is just decreasing where it looks right. Most of the decreasing will be done on the side of your foot where the little toes are. By your big toe, there may be one or two.
After sewing the sides together, I picked up the stitches and knitted the bottom and sides of the slipper. If you knit it wide enough, the sides will just curl up and you don't have to do anything extra difficult Grin.
The heel is a little hard to explain. I safety pinned 3 stitched on each side so the stitches wouldn't fall out (you will come back to these later) the rest of the row is what you knit for now. You decrease the first two stitches and the last two stitches. Repeat once and bind off.
Then go back to the stitches that were safety pinned and knit until it is long enough to wrap around the heel. Then sew them together, then to the heel.
If the sides aren't long enough, you may have to crochet around in the main color.
After you're done crocheting around in the main color, use a different color(or the same:)) to crochet around once. I did single crochet around most of it and double crochet at the heel.

I also suggest making a strap, so they can look like mary janes Smiley

16  Mr. Dinglebopper in More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works by Sally LeStrange on: January 02, 2010 10:11:16 AM
The explination:
I was texting my friend. Her birthday isn't too far off. While texting her I was watching the Lord of the Rings. I started talking about elves.  I get the following text:
I want an elf. Tongue
Me: I will buy you a stripper and put elf ears on him for your birthday. Lips sealed
Friend: Bring him with you on monday!
me: But...your birthday isn't till wednesday...
Friend: Pshhh! I don't care! I want my stripper!
Me:....MR. DINGLEBOPPER!
Friend...what?

 Smiley

I wanted her elven stripper to have the craziest name ever. Dinglebopper is what came out. I'm not sure why......
Mr. Dinglebopper, version 1: Cheesy

Mr. Dinglebopper, Version 2. Fairy edit. Featuring the stripper wand! Grin

Yes, this one is much more crap-tacular than the first. I drew him really quick.
I don't usually draw, since I'm not good at it(as you can see). Usually it's just cartoon cupcakes with chibi faces.....
I like the first one better.
But I love that he's a fairy with a stripper wand. Shocked
