1  UNITED STATES / Missouri / Call for Crafters: June show at the Moxie Cinema, Springfield on: March 09, 2010 09:29:28 AM
The Moxie Wholly Craft! Show to be held Friday and Saturday Jun 4 and 5 at the Moxie Cinema is now accepting applications from interested crafters. Space is VERY limited and this is a juried show, so the more detailed the response, the better! Full tables are $25 and pub tables are $15. Application deadline is April 2.

If you have any questions, please contact Whitney at whollycraftshow @ gmail.com.

This event is not affiliated in any way with Wholly Craft the business. Wholly Craft is also the name of an unrelated craft business based in Columbus, Ohio that has been in operation since 2005.

2  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Winter Holidays / Abominable and Krampus, the grumpiest x-mas ornaments ever! on: November 13, 2008 08:58:04 AM
I am doing a holiday craft show and an ornament swap.  I didn't want to get too cutesy with my ornaments, so here's the Abominable Snowman:

He is still pretty cute, but will probably bite your head off.

And my favorite holiday meany, Krampus:

And here's the terrifying duo:

They still need a ribbon loop on their heads and Krampus will be also carrying a bundle of switches on his back.  You know, for switching all those naughty children.  Now I am on to mass production!  Phew!
3  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General / Nifty Newspaper Banner on: September 25, 2008 07:05:08 AM
I have a craft show coming up this weekend and need some signage for my table.  I saw this tutorial for a newspaper bunting awhile ago and thought I would give it a try.

Here's mine:

a close up:

I Mod Podged it because we'll be outdoors and I want to get lots of use out of it.  I want to make it triangles like in the tutorial, but my stencils are huge and it was easier to square them off then to try and squeeze the letters on there.

Oh, and just for giggles, here's my table model, Opal.  She got a paint job and a new cheapo wig for the show. Sorry she is nudie, she'll be wearing a shirt and holding the others at the show!
4  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Angry Panda Army on: August 04, 2008 06:33:20 AM

My husband has a gig at Warped tour next week and we had to come up with some merch fast.  I had made him a few Angry Panda dolls for his last tour and they sold like hotcakes, so I thought I would give it a go again.

They are just a wee panda drawing I did, cleaned up in photoshop and printed a bajillion of the suckers on muslin with my Gocco.  Then I stuffed and sewed them.  Phew.  I have 25 done at this point, and I will probably stuff and sew the remainder on the drive out to the show.

Here are the prints hanging to dry:

We are printing patches tonight and leaving for Idaho tomorrow evening.  If any of you are in Boise and heading to Warped tour, you should definitely come check out Angry Panda at the Kevin Says Stage and check out my wee angry panda dolls too!
5  HOME SWEET HOME / Pet-Related Crafts: Completed Projects / Crafty or slowly going insane... you decide! on: July 09, 2008 06:59:48 AM
It is kinda crafty, 'cause I made the hat...

It is my birthday and I put my chicken in a party hat:

I hope this is the right category, but I didn't think this should go in Clothing because it involves a chicken.
6  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Yikes! Deadly cute! Zombie clothespin dolls! on: July 07, 2008 02:15:38 PM
So, I had a bunch of chenille stems I got for a quarter at a flea market sitting around my craft room for awhile.  When I was digging around in the bundle, I noticed that the majority of them were a motley olive green - ooo, zombie color!

And I was inspired:

And this lady is a bit more fresh, she has more of that original Dawn of the Dead, zombie blue coloring:

A few more pics and some boy zombies at my flickr.
7  FIBER ARTS / Spinning: Completed Projects / Entirely pleased with myself! (first yarn!) on: August 08, 2005 01:40:13 PM
My mom and my sister (the only people I know IRL who might appreciate this) are out of town for the week and if I don't brag on myself to someone I might explode.  So here is my first yarn of any consequence:

It is only 75ft, but my leg was about to fall off by the time I was done.  How do people make larger batches?
8  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / zipper pouch cuff on: December 16, 2003 04:42:19 PM
Warning: this is a blantant rip-off of Aliza Darik's zipper cuff and Yuri Ono's zipper pouch.  And while I like to support crafty designers, it is xmas and I just can afford it!
