Bring one or more photos, selfies or postcards to the TMC and transform them into something new by using a variety of craft supplies and creative technique from hand-embroidery to heat transfer.

Well provide the materials and opportunities to learn new skills while you enjoy great company, tasty treats and getting stitchy.

Share a story about yourself by making a soft sculpture of your own likeness using stockings, plastics and recycled textiles in this special workshop with artist Jrme Havre. Open to adults and children (age 8 and up), this workshop provides an opportunity to share sewing, patchwork and collage skills across generations. This program is offered in French and English and includes a tour of the exhibition.

Join Creative Matters designers for an interactive two-hour session of creative mark-making exercises inspired by objects and imagery from the TMCs exhibition Telling Stories. Creative Matters will incorporate artwork created by workshop participants into original rug designs entered into the firms first-ever Art Day competition. The winning design will be hand woven by artisans in Nepal, and the winning rug will be donated to Label STEP, a not-for-profit organization that encourages fair trade within the carpet industry.
