1  CRAFTING FOR GOOD AND NOT EVIL / Crafty Charitable/Social Causes / BIG Project! PARADE FLOAT! on: August 11, 2010 10:15:53 PM
I work for a company that works with people with disabilities. Homecoming is huge in our town as we're a university town and I've volunteered to design the very first float for our company. Someone suggested a GIANT wheelchair- I love the idea, but how do I even start going about constructing that? What materials would I use?! Any help would be SSOOO appreciated!
2  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Mother's Day / Mother's Day Gift for a Grave on: May 05, 2010 11:04:35 AM
My boyfriend's mother past away and he hates Mother's Day. However, I planned a trip to visit his mother's relatives this weekend and I want to make a Mother's Day gift for her grave when we're in town. It has to be something that can withstand the rain and wind, but something pretty that we can set with some flowers on her grave.

Any ideas would be great!
3  REUSING/RECYCLING/RECRAFTING / What the heck can I do with THIS? / Vintage Glass Soda Bottles on: November 29, 2009 11:43:36 AM
My dad works for Pepsi and recently gave me a whole case of glass Coke, Pepsi, Ne-Hi and Twist Up glass bottles from waaaay back when. I would like to do something cute with them, but I have no idea what to do??? Any ideas?

4  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Weddings and Bridal Showers / Easy Party Veil! on: September 07, 2009 09:00:30 PM
A friend of mine was getting married and wanted to wear a veil to her bachelorette party, but not the expensive one that she planned on wearing to the wedding. She considered buying a party veil, but I told her that I bet I could make a veil for half the price or even less than half of what she would pay. It turned out great and the pictures just don't do it justice!

All you need is:
I used about a yard of white tulle and a yard of pink tulle
Hot glue gun
Pretty barrette

(First time posting! Can you help me put the pictures directly on here?)

6  Halloween / Halloween Costumes / Re: I need help with planning a Halloween Wedding!! on: September 07, 2009 04:48:47 PM
Once upon a time, I was engaged. Me and my Prince Charming were planning a late October wedding. We weren't really interested in the Halloween aspect as the fall colors and pumpkins and such. Here's two ideas we had involving lighting:
For each table, we were going to have those baby pumpkins, cut off the top and put small tealights in them. Halloween effect: Maybe the guests could carve or draw Jack o Lanterns as favors?!

You can get small LED lights that look like tealights at Walmart. They aren't very expensive, and they look like they flicker like real candles. Get some white (or black or orange) paper bags and line the walkway with them! No risk of fire and a cool, eerie effect!!

Let us know how it all works out!
7  Halloween / Halloween Costumes / Re: Need to make a very POOFY costume... on: September 07, 2009 04:44:38 PM
What about a petticoat? Something that will expand it out for you? then you could do your layers around that...?

Good luck!
