31  Re: Crafty Detective Round 6- the gallery! in The Swap Gallery by EkkaGrrl on: April 20, 2010 10:12:51 AM
FINALLY! Pictures of my fan-freakin-tastic packages from crystalbrittany!! Smiley
I recieved 2 boxes on 2 completely different days. I was so incredibly happy with the first box when the second box came I was pleasantly surprised. Smiley

Here's everything all together.

She made this fantastic project bag which can double as a diaper bag.

I LOVE this crochet hook roll! I should mention everything came with little notes telling me about each project. I thought that was great! Smiley Inside the roll each little slot had a note. lol I have one favourite note but more on that later.

OK.. my favourite little note came with these hair sticks. It was like reading an excerpt from a novel I'd like to read! Smiley She explained how she found these magical pieces of shimmering driftwood but when she got home they were just sticks. I want to tell you that I SEE the magic! I love them!!

From my wist, she made me 2 hats. The first is a slouch hat that I have wanted since I first realized there was such a thing as a slouch hat. It's modelled here by my oldest daughter becuase I was having a bad hair day. lol
The second is a sac hat for the new baby. Since I'm still harbouring her ( amazingly!!) I used the belly to model it. Tongue

Mmmm.. sushi earring!! I think I might wear these today. Sushi.. the world's most perfect food.. even in jewelry form. Smiley

TUTUS!! My daughters were so excited to see these! They've been wearing them pretty much every day since they arrived. SHe also sent me the left over tulle and I agree.. tulle is staticy and hard to work with. lol
Please excuse my filthy children. It's been really nice weather here and they like to play in the dirt. lol

Now for the second box. My son was a little diappointed nothing came for him so I told him I would make him a tutu with the extra tulle. Then the secnd box came. He was so excited to see the coat rack. He LOVES the Phantom of the Opera ( i have video on youtube of him singing think of me if anyone wants to see. Smiley )

The rack was wrapped in the this very cool fabric. Now I need to figure out a cool project to use it in. Smiley

Than you so much for this fabulous package!! It came at a time I was feeling pretty low due to issues I'm having with my pregnancy. It really made me feel good. Smiley You spoiled me like crazy!! Smiley

Yay - glad you liked everything?  I did send your apron right???  I hope so, because when I packed your package, I had to repack a couple of times because after I sealed it it, I saw something I forgot to put in.  Once, everything fit in nice and flat, and then when I lifted the box off the bed, and removed some packing supplies, I actually saw the recipe book left behind - doh!

If I didn't send it, let me know and I will look for it and pass it  on - then I could also send another extra mag BA sent me - they did not correct the mistake on my sub yet Cheesy

I knew I was forgetting something!!!! Geez.. I have serious pregnancy brain. Ok, I'll post the pic of the apron, that DID make it in to the box lol, in a bit. The pics are on my laptop and I'm on the desktop. Didn't mean to panic you. Smiley

Wait! I did upload it! I just forgot to post it. lol
This is the coolest apron I now own. Smiley How can you get any cooler than skulls and your own name?!? Grin

Finally! Here is my awesome package from onyxnox!!!

Here is the cookbook she made for me. It means business!! Cheesy I love it!!

There are some pretty need shrink plastic decorations inside too.

And here's is one page from isnide the book. Let me tell you, there are some seriously delicious looking recipes in here!! I have a good blend of different types of dishes and a really good selection of spice blends!!

Talking about spices.. here are a few! Smiley I love that she sent me spices I would find easily where I live ( I live in the boonies!!). There's a jerk, piri, anise, cumin seed, umm.. i can't remember the rest offhand..lol They're already in my spice cupboard. Smiley

Ooo.. lookie lookie at my Jamie Oliver goodies! Smiley

For her puchased books she couldn't have picked better cookbooks! I'm getting ready to have a baby within the next 8 weeks and cook ahead and simplicity is the way to go for me. She sent a Company's Coming Make Ahead and also a  Canadian Living slow cooker cookbook. Perfect!!!!! You're choices were awesome! There's also the Canadian Living extra and the Bon Appetit magazine. Man, I love recipes!! Smiley

And the extras. Little prep bowls and whatnot.. oh and the window gels that my kids think are fantastic!!

I think that`s everything..  I`m having a scatterbrain day today so I hope I didn`t forget anything. lol

Thank you for being such an awesome swap partner!! I <3 absolutely everything you sent me!!

I recieved fluff mail today!!  Grin mommythemaid sent me a very nice package!

It was really nice getting something fun in the mail since I've had a house full of sick the past few days, ending with me being so so sick. Sad

Here is a pic of the loot all together.

mommythemaid sent me the cutest pink fleece cover with an embroidered skull on the bum.  Grin I love skulls on my litle girl. She's just hardcore like that. lol She also made a fitted diaper and a soaker made from towles that looks very efficient!!

She also mad 2 bibs with matching burp cloths for the newest baby. Smiley Isn't the bowler fabric the coolest? Smiley The apples are so very cute. I jus love the fabric you used! She also made a pack of flannel wipes in camo. Very cool.

Thank you so much! Everything you made is great! Ruby saw the fleece cover and said " Is that mine? Is it mine, mommy?" She really really likes it. Smiley You are a great partner, mommythemaid!!

This is a beautiful historic home in Ohio. I love old grand homes. This one looks like ti would be very nice to tour.

and some 50's style awesomeness from jennieingram!

Thank you ladies! I really love the cards you all sent. So do my kids! I hate to search down the nun card earlier after my kids took it off the fridge then I had to track down the memorial home card after the baby decided it was her mail. Tongue

This was a lot of fun!!

36  Re: Fill a mug round 5 gallery in The Swap Gallery by EkkaGrrl on: January 25, 2010 08:30:14 PM
And here are my goodies from quaggy! I'm so excited!!

When I opened the box the smell of peppermint was amazing! ( You're right, quaggy, that see smells ver strong. Luckily, I LOVE peppermint!!) I took everything out of the box that wasn't wrapped and this is what I found:

There's paper placemats with a teapot, cherries and a cupcake, gifties for the kiddies, a little tea set, tea party stickers, a bronze tea pot pin cushion, a grocery list for the fridge, a pot holder.

Then the yummies!

The teas: a fruit sampler, a very yummy looking berry white tea, pepperment tea, organic mint tea. Then there's the Snoopy's Special Pink Hot Chocolate ( I need to guard this from my oldest daughter.. she was very interested in the tin!). There are ice cream suckers, chocolate rasberry sticks and Almond Joy bars which I've never had before and are so yummy!

Next I pulled out a bunch of wrapped goodies. It felt like my birthday! Smiley There was also an envelope with the instructions to open last.

The unwrapping frenzy began and here is what I found:

There are 2 tea wallets with peppermint tea in them ( the cause of the wonderful peppermint smell! Smiley ), 2 very pretty tea towels with cross-stitched and applique tea pots on them ( they go very nicely in my kitchen. It'll be even better when we get the walls painted in there. ) , an amazingly cool apron with teacup print. I'll post a better pic of the apron too. There was also a mug with a cozy/caddy on it with pens, nail files, lots of tags, teapot ribbon and a teapot magnet. The mug is fantastic! It has it's own spoon! It couldn't get any better. There's also a steeper teapot which, the funny part is, I was going to buy what I think is the exact same one last summer whe I bought some really nice loose teas. Smiley It's perfect!

Here's a better pic of the apron. I tried to get hubby to tak e a pic of me wearing it but today is a grubby day and I'm in my pj's. The pictures just looked horrible. lol Not to mention the apron fits ober my round baby bump but it just looked funny to me. Tongue

Thank you for an amazing package, quaggy! The letter you wrote was so very sweet and the story about Grandma's apron is so appropriate. Smiley You have really made this a great swap for me!! Smiley It's nice when someone really thinks about you. Smiley You are an awesome partner !  Grin

OK... it took me a little longer than I planned and I hope I do this right..lol

This the box after I tore in to it in my car outside of the postal outlet. It had the coolest skully stickers on front. That little hand belongs to my baby who was very excited about the box too. Smiley

This is the cute card amigurl55 sent with my package.

Group photo of girly goodness!

Very pretty cell phone charm that I will put on my phone as soon as I figure out where I put it. lol

A pearly pink and white necklace. What girl can be truly girly without pearls?

I LOVE these patches! I'm going to put them on my baby's jean jacket.

The grooviest tote!

Amigurl55 also sent some girly-ness to my little girls. What can be girly that fashion dolls you colour yourself and body stickers?

Thank you so much amigurl55!! You made my first swap totally awesome!!
