Front: 8 Years have passed... And I still can't bring myself to delete your number from my phone...
Side of phone:You were only 11
Back:8 years ago one of my best friends killed herself. She was only 11. We sent each other smail mail 2x a week and talked at least 3x a week until I got too busy. I was 14 and in high school. We hadn't talked in about 1 1/2 -2 months before it happened. I found out during finals week. There were others around me who knew about it and didn't tell me for 2 weeks. (We lived in different cities)
I still wonder if she would still be alive if we were still as close as we were and if I had made time to talk to her. If I delete her number, well I already feel like I failedher, and I'm afraid of how much worse it will make me feel. She also didn't write an actual suicide note, she wrote a letter to me a few days before and her parents mailed it after her death. She seemed fine and she said thank you for being a wonderful friend. Some friend I was...

24  Re: International Snack Swap Gallery! in The Swap Gallery by EkkaGrrl on: July 05, 2010 05:30:20 AM
I recieved an amazing box full of goodies on Friday!! Yummy!!
I have had a crazy weekend! Sorry it took me so long to post. Smiley
First we have the chocolate. Oh my the chocolate! Have I mentioned how much I love chocolate? Especially GOOD chocolate! There's a good combo of dark chocolate with things like bread, sea salt and mint. There's a chocolate frog and there were 2 Almond Joys ( but one of them accidently fell inmy mouth already.  Roll Eyes )

My wonderful partner, camelama, is thinking about me. I can tell. She packed me healthy snacks too.
These are very very yummy fruit strips.

And these bars, which are both gluten/wheat-free. My son is gluten-free and I think he'll really like these. Smiley

I had asked camelama if she had Kraft Dinner in the US. Turns out they do but it's called Kraft Macaroni and Cheese and the pasta comes in fun shapes! So she sent me Toy Story Macaroni & Cheese! We can't wait to try it, maybe today for lunch. I'm curious if the taste is the same.

I also asked her about Fruit Stripe Gum. When I was a little girl and lived in BC my parents used to buy this gum for me all the time!

When I first opened the boxed a package of pretzel M&Ms jumped out at me. Pretzel M&Ms?? That's crazy talk!! So I ate them. Holy Moly! Talk about yummo!! There was also a bag of Pirate booty and chocolate cherries. I have to admit, I have ALWAYS wondered what the heck Pirate Booty was ( I'd heard other American friends talking about it but I have never seen it.) Turns out is delicious!

She's is so thoughtful she even sent snacks for my kitties! Smiley It says they're dog treats but let's face it.. cats can't read! ..and they eat dead things.... lol!!

She sent me 2 cars!! Cheesy Cheesy My 2 year old was all over these! She loves cars. Smiley

And the best part? 2 snack bags made with the best fabric ever! I love this sugar skulls fabric. She saw it on my wist and just happened to have enough to make me snack bags.  Grin Pure awesomeness!

There was a box of chocolate chip cookies in there too but I managed to drop them in my car and didn't notice them until I had already taken pictures. They tried to escape but it was a failed attempt! Bwaaahaahaahaa!  Cheesy

Thank you so much camelama! This has been the yummiest swap EVER!!! Smiley

My partner, Shelanie, recieved her package a little while ago but hasn't been able to post pics so I offered to post for her. Unfortunately,I was in a mad hurry to send since I was late and only took a group photo so you won't be able to see much detail. Hopefully Shelanie will be able to post a few other pics in the near future. Smiley

A break down of the package:

Things I crafted:
A t-shirt for her little guy who loves Star Wars that says " hello my name is annakin"
A project bag with red flowers
2 baby blankets, baby wipes
Funky fabric wallet
bracelet, earrings and hair clip made with swarski crystals
Journal ( this hasn't made it to Shelani yet so this is a sneak peak for her.. Tongue )

Things I bought:
Candy Candles from a local candle maker
ribbon ( in the second package)
polymer clay ( I would have added other polymer things but I know nothing about polymer clay..lol!)
suede-fabric photo albums
candies candies and more candies!! ( some are in the second package Smiley )

The package was ver well recieved. Smiley Not to mention, I had a ton of fun making a few things I've never made before. Next I need to conquer polymer clay.  Cheesy

I was remindaed today about the sweet little hat crystalbrittany made fore my then not born baby, Violet. So.. I pulled it out and we had a photo shoot!! Grin

She started to get a little crabby because I wasn't picking her up so I only got a few pics but man! is that hat cute!! Thanks again, crystalbrittany!!!!!!

I have to say it looks much nicer on Violet's head than on my big round belly.  Wink

Also, I want one in my size!! Think you'd be up for a personal swap?? I'm so very serious!!
