11  Re: Friends of Craftster Raffle Swap R9 FOCR R9 (Signups 12/27-1/21 Sendouts 2/1) in ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED by EkkaGrrl on: January 19, 2011 04:17:55 PM
Here is my contribution! Scarf and mittens made from wool sweaters.

I love old wool sweaters and have quite the collection but I have never made anything for grown ups with them. Cheesy I like making diaper covers. Then I came across this nifty tute http://knitty.com/ISSUEwinter06/FEATwin06FK.html . It's a pretty cool way to felt. So the scarf and the flowers on the sarf are felted. I felted them all together and the fluff from the gray sweater stuck to the pink for the flowers so they aren't as pink as the mitts. I kinda liked the effect though.

The mitts aren't felted. They are so super soft though. My 2 older daughters were fighting over who I was making them for. Grin

And here is my awesome package from penelopewaits!
Group shot:

penelopewaits did a very awesome thing with her journal. She did every day on an index card. I think that is brilliant! Every card is something different. She talks about herself, her partner, her family, friends and her fur-babies. It's all complete with little polaroid pictures and other bits and pieces.

Here are a couple of interesting cards ( I found every single on of them interesting!! This is just for picture purpopses Wink )

Cross stitch! I love cross stitch and it's one of  my first crafty loves too. Smiley My mother taught me and I've been doing it ever since.

I love the little quilted piece on this card. I wish I could quilt.

I love the paper piecing on this card. Pressies!

She also took a peek at my wist and found a couple of homeschooling t shirts I want and made the saying in to buttons. Wee! These are going on my kids' coats immediately! I would have taken a pic of one of them with it on but they are all sick and snotty and not very good humoured today.

Thank you so much for letting me in to your life, penelopewaits! I feel thankful that you let me take a peek and shared so much with me. As I said in my other note to you, we have quite a bit in common. Smiley

13  Re: International Snack Swap 2 Gallery! in ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED by EkkaGrrl on: December 04, 2010 10:59:08 AM
I found my card reader!! Grin

So.. here is my box of yum from CleanFeelin!
The box.

When I started to open the box I realized I could smell chocolate and there was powder stuck to the tape. Turns out one of the Swiss Miss hot chocolate packets didn't make it. Sad Luckily the resat were fine though. There were also gushers for the kids, chocolate chip cookie pop tarts and very yummy candy cane hershey kisses! Mmm.. I love anything mint!

CleanFeelin sent me a canvas shopping bag with my very pretty initial stenciled on it. I love it! And you're right, you can never have too many shopping bags. Smiley We also have Mini Cow Tales ( which the kids and I are sampling today), Boston Baked Beans candy coated peanuts which turns out, are made here in Canada. lol I've never seen them though. The Macaronie and Cheese we have here but it's called Kraft Dinner and we don't have it in fun Toy Story and Sponge Bob shapes. Oh that jar of Fluff!! That stuff is heaven in a jar!!!

Finally, we have snack sized Almond Joys ( JOY!! Smiley ) and snack sized Hersy Bars which I asked for so I could tell if there was a difference between the US and Canadian Hersheys. I'm not sure if there is or not though. lol Mini Charlstons Chews..mm... and a Dark Chocolate Rasberry Lemon Biscotti Truffle Bar! This almost made me pee with excitement!!  Cheesy There was also a fuill sized Almond Joy bar but it fell in to my mouth. Tongue

Thank you so much CleanFeelin!!! This box will keep my supplied with junk food for a little while. ;)My kids also thank you as they bounce from the walls.  Cheesy

I finally have a moment to post pictures of my fantastic package from LadyLeitzen!

Here's everything together.

I'm going to learn to knit!! I am so incredibly jealous of all who knit. I've tried a couple things but I'm terrible at it. This book looks very promising though. Smiley

Here is the book The Cool Girl's Guide To Knitting ( hey! I'M a cool girl!!  Grin ), a Creative Knitting magazine and a bunch of knitting patterns. I love the Ruby bear because I have a Ruby girl. Smiley

OK folks.. Is this not the coolest knitting needle roll you have ever seen??? I LOVE this fabric and she added a small extra piece for me too. She sent needles to put in the roll too. There was also a ball of yarnn so I am so set!! I'm going to sit down with everything and teach myself to knit just as soon as I wrap up the last of my swaps for the year.

And a sweet hat for my littlest girl, right off my wist! She loves it too.

Thank you again LadyLeitzen! I love this package and gives me hope that I could become a knitter yet!  Grin

15  Re: Canadian small envelope swap Gallery! in The Swap Gallery by EkkaGrrl on: November 01, 2010 10:36:22 AM
Wow! This was like a mini Christmas in an envelope!  Cheesy The envelope was packed FULL of goodies.. glorious goodies!! And almost everything came in it's own little envelope.

Here's a group shot.

Here are the things that didn't have their own little envelope. There are bamboo knitting needles, 5 beaded bracelets with charms which my kids will love!, an adjustable braided bracelet that I think I'm going to put around my ankle, the hottest sexy witch card I have ever seen Grin and some really awesome halloween themed paper and bits ( I <3 Halloween!!)

The first envelope had paper beads! The COOLEST paper beads!

The next one had a very very sweet headband for my baby. Smiley If she was up I would have just let her model it.I love putting headbands on her.

Then we have the next 3 envelopes. There's an envelope of bath salts ( now I HAVE to have a bath.. ya.. some time all by myself..ya.. That's what I'll tell The Man. lol ), an envelope of loose tea ( you know, for me to enjoy for the 2 hours I'll spend locked up in my bathroom.. all by myself..  Grin) and an envelope of recipe cards which include a recipe for gingerale!

Here we have an envelope full of seed packets! These will go out in the garden next spring. An evelope with a very cool necklace and some extra bead that are also extremely cool! I love collecting random beads for jewelry and these are perfect! Then we have the sugar skull! I can cannot relay how much I LOVE this!!!!

Thank you so much Oyhana!! This was definately an envelope jam packed with happiness.  Grin

16  Re: New Baby & Pregnant Momma Swap Shipping MOVED TO 8/30/10 in The Swap Gallery by EkkaGrrl on: September 29, 2010 11:25:17 AM
Geez.. it's a good thing something draws me back here from time to time.. I have been so amazingly absent-minded the past little while.  Embarrassed

I meant to post these quite a while ago and just now when I realized I still hadn't done it, I couldn't find the card I took the pictures on. Sooo.. I had to run around the house looking for all the wonderful things knittychick sent for me and my crew. Luckily, I think I found it all! Smiley

2 things not pictured: A bag of Almond Joy Pieces. Not pictured because I ate DEVOURED them!! They were so good I feel like crying right now because I can't get them here. Sad The other thing is a book she sent to my 3 year old that had 4 little books inside. She loves them and has stashed them somewhere and won't tell me. lol

On to the pics!

First up a baby carrier! She appliqued a tree on one side and some cool skullies on the other. That's right, folks! It's reversable!

Sorry no action shots of this. I'm the only capable of taking pictures apparentlt. Sad

Then there was this oh so cute knitted hat. It's is so freakin' sweet on my baby! Smiley

Some pretty headbands!

Again, so cute on my cutie bum. Smiley

Then there's the babylegs style leg warmers. Why in the world didn't I think of this?? I love baby leg warmers!

Look at this outfit! I would have done an action shot of this but Violet got crabby so I wasn't pussing it.  Cheesy I love cherries!

Look! A wetbag! I make so many of these and have yet to make one for myself. It was a perfect item for me. Smiley

Then the extras for my other childre.. Thank you knittychick! I wasn't expecting things for the bigger ones but they all loved them. It actually took me a bit to hunt down the cd and the shoe decorating kit. Tongue

My son was particularly happy to get something, especially music. Smiley He's very interested in this swapping business. lol

My brood and I were definately spoiled rotten by knittychick! Smiley Thank you so much for being such an awesome partner! BTW I am so glad the picture frame made it to you in one piece. I was worried about that.

I recieved from rhymeswithorange!! I am so amazed and so very very happy with my new sock guy. He ROCKS!!!
PUNK ROCK!

The flower in his lap is a beautiful brooch she made for me. Isn't he the coolest??

He's wearing a Misfits shirt! My punk friend thougt that was pretty cool. And the green mohawk? Priceless!

I can't get over these shoes and would like a pair for myself.

Those are little skullies!!!

Here is a close up of the gorgeous brooch. I took him to my friend's place with the brooch in his ear so I could keep everything together. He told me the flower earring was so not punk. lol

Thank you so much!!! This is one of the best monkeys I have EVER seen!!!! I'll be saving him for my youngest daughter. Hopefully she'll love him just as much as I do. Smiley
