21  Re: Random Act Of Kindness Swap Gallery in The Swap Gallery by EnginerdLisa on: April 27, 2011 03:42:18 PM
I got my last package today!  Sad to be done, but it is a great package.

My very first hoopla, and it is based off a t-shirt on my wist.

ETA: I'm spastic, and forgot to mention it is from scifunk.

So I received a package that is absolutely amazing today!  The wonderful and talented FoxyBlue made me a shirt and a piece of artwork!

First off, the postcard in the package is so cute I want to hang that as art also!  It's so me, I love it.

Then there was this beautiful drawing.  You can't tell in the photo, but it is also glittery.  The pose and style of her dress are based on a dress on my wist.  I love all of the swirly designs and the wings she added.  I'm also a lover of fairies, so that was perfect.  Something that also struck me, is that the swirls on the girls leg kind of remind me of the tattoo I have on my foot (gratuitous tattoo photo included for reference).

As if that wasn't great enough she also included a shirt with the beautiful retro pinup fairy on it!  Pardon my messy hair, and the red bra, but I had to put it on immediately, I love it and can't wait to wear it out.

Foxy is so amazing.  I can't believe how much detail there is in both items.  I'm always in awe of people who can draw, but she is a true artist with wonderful talent.  As soon as I find a frame, I will be hanging her art up in my craft room.  This is definitely one of the best swap packages I have received.  Thank you so very much FoxyBlue.

23  Cell Phone Corsets in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by EnginerdLisa on: April 02, 2011 12:43:20 PM
I made these cell phone corsets for a partner in a swap.
I used this tutorial http://www.urbanthreads.com/pages?id=475 (except for the embroidery)

The polka dot one was a test piece, done out of scrap I had lying around.

This was the "real" one made from a nice satiny material.  Since they both turned out I sent both.

24  Rock, Paper Scissors, Lizzard, Spock Bracelet in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General by EnginerdLisa on: April 02, 2011 12:36:00 PM
I made this for a swap partner, the extra link was so she could make it larger if needed.
I used dimensional glue to cover teh images, but if I do it again I will use resin.

I recieved a package! Yay!  Opened mail box, and found envelope with beautiful drawings on it.

Then inside a lovely card.

My awesome sparrow necklace!

Extras, a brooch and necklace to add to my wedding bouquet. Darn sparkly things didn't want to photograph well.

Happy swaper with her new necklace!

Thank you so much shylitlegoddess.  The necklace is beautiful, and I think when I'm not wearing it I'm going to hang it over my desk.

While making my partner's item I got to do something I've never done!  I got to learn how to put eyelets/grommets in something.  Check out my practice piece.

28  My Keyka Lou Lots of Pockets in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by EnginerdLisa on: March 11, 2011 05:31:02 PM
Just finished the lots of pockets bag (Keyka Lou Pattern)

I love it.  I used interfacing on every piece to stiffen it up, since fabric purses I have made in the past tend to be too flimsy.  I acidently sewed a twist into one of the handles, but only I will ever notice I'm sure.  If I make another I will probably widen the top opening a little.

I made one of these for my first swap back in 09.  I've always wanted to make one for myself.  I may get to that soon!
