11  Re: Frugal Living Swap Gallery in The Swap Gallery by Liralen on: February 17, 2010 08:04:57 PM
Yay!  I received from donniesgirl and she sent an amazing package.  It's all so spiffy.  It came packed with pages from a magazine as stuffing.  I'm still debating whether I want to take the time to flatten them out to use for paper beads or not.  But it's a very frugal way to do packing!

The loot.

First up is a great dish towel and trivet/potholder made with a great batiked-feel fabric with turtles!  These are the best colors ever.  The towel is what everything is sitting on in the above picture and it has that line of colored fabric across one end.

She sent me some lovely cloth napkins that I have already started using. The brightly colored ones are now sitting at my desk at work.  They are awesome.

Here are the great utensil rolls she made for my son and I.  The lizard one is going to be mine and the red is my sons.  Wonderful and just want I wanted.  My son loves his too.  Each has a napkin with it as well.

Donniesgirl also sent some great food items.  There is homemade granola, onion soup mix (which I think is going to be dinner tomorrow), and dried sage.  And they are all marked with Gnome labels!

Last but not least is this great candle.  I've made them with glass jars before, but never thought about using a wineglass.  I think I'm going to have to copy this idea.  It will give me a reason to indulge in shopping for them. Smiley

She also sent a sewing book since I am truly in awe of people with those skills.  I've glanced through it in the brief time I have free and it looks awesome.  Also included was a CD with a David Ramsey program, a cookbook and a craft book she made from another swap.  Excellent!

Thank you so much for a great swap!

12  Bach Scarf in Crochet: Completed Projects by Liralen on: December 02, 2009 06:06:26 PM
I made this scarf for my swap partner who loves Bach music.  The notes are from Bach's Musette.  She adores it, yay!  I'm thinking of making one for myself, with different notes, and if I have time, I might make one for my sister for xmas.

A close up of the extra I put on one end, without the fringe being straightened out.

Thanks for looking!

Yay!  I received my package from SapphireMoon today and it is awesomeness!  I cannot tell you how happy I am with what she sent.  I'm still giddy.  My son thinks I'm a nerd because I made him take pictures, but he was excited that he got a box of gum in the package.

Please forgive me for the fuzziness of the pictures, but I realized that my camera has a couple scratches across the lens or something that makes everything slightly fuzzy.  Anyway, here are the pictures!

This is what I opened and found!  I opened the thank you card first and put it back in the box to take the picture.  SapphireMoon included a couple yummy extras!  Swedish Fish (my favorite), M&Ms, and gum for my kiddo along with a sparkly bangle.

Here is the whole package!

This is the gorgeous apron she made me.  I adore the fabric and the cut of it, and the great pockets!  Once you put it on, you don't really want to take it off again.  You can kind of see the wonderful necklace she made me as well.

This is the back of the apron.

A close up of the necklace.  The chain is silver and it is long!  I love the color and bead choices she made.  And it jingles, awesome!

The dangly bracelet!  It's beautiful, and I love glass beads.

The corduroy shoulder bag!  I mentioned that, while I'm not a purse person, I have been carrying around several bags with work and craft stuff and I needed something more organized.  So she made this wonderful thing with lots of pockets.  She even included a couple pens and a wrist thing to attach keys to.  I'm so giddy!  I think this should definitely help cut back the amount of crap I carry around, and it should all fit in one bag.

A new wallet and essentials bag.  The wallet is wonderful.  I found a pocket on the outside after I took this picture and it's currently in my pocket right now.  I love the dragonfly on the zipped corduroy bag.  Beautiful!

Thank you so much, SapphireMoon.  You have really spoiled me.

I received an excellent package from melissa!  She did an awesome job.  My photos are slightly crappy but get the image across.

Theme Music, an apron with some of my favorite Shinedown Lyrics: Like a crow chasing a butterfly, dandelions lost in the summer sky.  It's beautiful and I love what she did.

Theme Tattoos, a recycled notebook with different sorts/sizes of paper.  I can't wait to use it.  The image on the front is one of my favorite images from t-shirt/tattoo designs, a feather that breaks apart into birds.

Theme Plants/Leaves, a yarn bag!  Awesome!  She used real branches from her yard as the handles and recycled material for the bag.  The leaves are gorgeous and there are pockets inside.  I've been looking for a new bag to use for my yarn.  I can see this going everywhere with me.

Theme Turtle/extra gnome, melissa!  made a beautiful necklace with a turtle charm.  And the gnome is an extra for my Gnome Theme.  It's a bead that I think turned out awesomely.  I love it!

Theme Gnome, a stuffed gnome!  I adore the way his hat curls!  This is very very awesome and is a wonderful collection to my gnomes, who aren't very cuddly at all.

Thank you very very much, melissa! for making this a great first swap for me.
