My sincere apologies to Pioneer9 (and everyone else) for not posting pictures of the AMAZING art quilt she made me. I've had to work all weekend (I'm at work now...SSHHH ) and I haven't had a chance to post pictures. I will post as soon as I can.
Here it is!!!! The AWESOME quilt Pioneer9 made! I can't even imagine the talent, skill, time and effort that went into this...It's so beautiful!!
Here's a close up of the tree (it's funny we all chose trees as the subject )
Even the fabric on the back is gorgeous!!
Thank you Pioneer9, I LOVE it!! All the fabrics you used are so beautiful, I'm going to try to replicate some of them in acrylic or watercolor for backgrounds!
Amazing work wiccadwitch. The tree texture on that box is blowing me away! And those gnomes are the sweetest. I wanna hear about the construction...the tree, the illustrations, the gnomes, the mushrooms? Do tell!
Thank you, the tree texture is just papier mache. I used strips of paper towels, coated them with wallpaper paste and rolled them up, which created some of the texture, then I glued them to the box with wood glue (the wallpaper paste by itself didn't really glue it well enough) then used a knife to make more wood texture. After it was dry I just painted it with acrylic paint then used a black wash over it. The gnomes and mushrooms are polymer clay. The gnomes were modeled after Swedish gnomes called Tomte (check them out on Pinterest, they are adorable!!! Oh my God! Tomte swap!?! )
I received the most AWESOME Magical Altar shrine from PerfectlyBohemian!!!!
It has all kinds of incredible details and elements, it reminds me of a magical, witchy cottage, it's on a shelf in my living room and it makes me feel good every time I look at it! Thank you so much, PerfectlyBohemian, I really LOVE it!!!!
The top of the shrine, with a twig pentacle, flowers, acorn caps and a fairy stone!

She also gave me a card and 3 EXTRA FAIRY STONES!!!
