I'm not completely sure I understand what you need, but.....
Would a template work? Like one that was round or oval, that you could line the letters up against? I have no idea what it's called but there's some tool, kind of like a length of flexible rubber, that architects use to make custom curves.
I did a search for message cards on Craftster and couldn't find anything, so....
I had never heard of these until recently. I work in a library and while checking in books I found this card in one of the books (it had two cartoon penguins on it, but the text was in spanish, so I have no idea what is said) on the back it had "Pass it on, Message card" printed on it. So, I did an internet search. For anyone (like me) who may not have heard of them, they are business card sized (2"x3") with inspirational/humerous quotes on them that are then passed out to family, friends, or whoever.
Anyway, I thought maybe people at Craftster might be interested in making these (they could be included with swaps or something). Also, since they are mainly a decorative background with a quote it would be something easy to work on when you feel like making something but aren't really focused enough to work on something serious.
I don't know, it seemed like an interesting idea to me, and I think handmade ones would be much nicer than manufactured ones.
I've seen work by professional artists (for sale) that was obviously inspired by another professional artist. sometimes they mention it, sometimes they don't. I couldn't even begin to count the number of works done in Patrick Nagel's style I've seen (including one I did - although, I clearly stated mine was inspired by Nagel).
Just received a fantastic dotee from KiwiDragons!! He (looks like a "he" to me, anyway ) reminds me of the begining of autumn (when there's still a little sun, but the weather is getting nice and cool). I love the expression on his face!!
I'll try to post pictures when I get home from work this evening, if not, tomorrow for sure.
Apologies (again) for the delay in posting pictures. I thought we had the computer problem fixed, but apparently did not.
Here is my dotee from Tattooedcrafter! She is winter-themed (I've been calling her the Spirit of Winter). She's dark blue (like the winter sky) and has beautiful beaded frosty snowflakes, that really look like little ice crystals. Her hanger is beaded too! I love her serene face! She reminds me of a peaceful winter evening.
Thank you Tattooedcrafter! I love her!! She's really helping me get through these miserably hot summer days.
On a miserable, sweltering day (Spicytaco, want to trade summer weather? I love the rain). I received a really pretty winter themed dotee from Tattooedcrafter! With frosty beaded snowflakes!! Reminds me that nicer (to me, anyway) weather is coming. I'll post pictures in the gallery as soon as I can.
Here's my dotee from Audio-astrophysics!!! (Finally). I'm afraid the pictures don't do it justice, it's very vibrant and shimmery in person.
The triple moon/Goddess is one of my favorite pagan symbols, and the background fabric has my favorite colors!! It also has shimmery gold lines accenting the pattern that really catch the light. The black netting over it makes a really nice texture and somehow gives it a mysterious quality. The back also has the triple moon/Goddess symbol quilted onto it!!
Thank you, Audio!! It's really beautiful!! I love it!!
