1  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / One shoulder top on: September 06, 2015 04:06:29 AM
Hi again!

A few weeks ago I had to attend a 'formalish' dinner and had nothing to wear. A dress was too much so I decided to make a top which I could dress up with a pencil skirt or wear it casually with a pair of jeans and nice shoes.

I'm always making things in stretch fabric because to me, they are the most comfortable pieces of clothing  Cheesy

I decided to add a batwing sleeve, it's really nice but in pictures you can't appreciate how it falls.

I decided to 'semi line' it. Once I wear it you can't see where the lining ends, but on the dressform, as it has a black background it's pretty noticeable.

I'm really happy how this one turned out Cheesy
2  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Owl on: August 02, 2015 07:28:16 AM
I just finished making this Owl.

I drafted the pattern and sewed it with leftover pieces of other projects.

It has pockets to store things in it

3  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Sweetheart neckline top on: June 25, 2015 05:30:34 AM
Today I want to show you one of the tops I made a few months ago.

It's one of my favourites because it's very cute and girly. I made my own pattern and I think I will sew it again with different fabrics, I would love one with the yoke in lace.

Thanks for your time.
4  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Blue Knit Top on: April 26, 2015 09:31:58 AM

Since I started sewing, I've always loved knits. There is no need of putting darts, the fit is much easier, and the fabric is super comfortable.

Today I show you my last knit top, with pleated neckline and sleeves. Pattern is self-drafted, very easy to make:

Thanks for your time
5  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Jacket on: April 26, 2015 09:20:40 AM

Last week I finished sewing a Yellow Jacket, yes... Yellow! it looks better than it sounds.  Grin

The pattern is self-drafted, I think I'm getting the hang of drawing patterns and I really enjoy making them. Recently I ordered Patternmaking for fashion design, and I can't wait for it to arrive home.

This jacket has two side zippers (no pockets, I was afraid I would sew them wrong as I've never sewn pockets Roll Eyes), and has 16 pattern pieces.

Hope you like it as much as I do. Best wishes from the Canary Islands, Spain

6  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Giraffe extra long on: April 26, 2015 09:02:26 AM

Since I started sewing a few years ago, all I've done was sew clothes for myself.

Recently my brother told me some exciting news.. I'm going to be an Auntie, and I sure want to be the best one of all Cheesy

This is the first of many gifts for the little baby yet to be born, it's 117cm tall!

The pattern is self-drafted and very simple to sew.

Hope you like it. Best wishes from the Canary Islands, Spain.

Thanks for your time Kiss
7  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Polka dot bow on: January 31, 2015 11:55:45 AM
Hi! It's been a while since I last posted something here. I've been busy sewing and creating my own Spanish sewing blog. Cheesy

This is the first top I finished this year. I usually make all my patterns on paper but recently I bought a dressform and I'm learning how to drape on it. This is the second piece of clothing I make with the help of it, and I can assure you it's a fun process.

The fabric used is viscose with nylon, dusty pink with black polka dots. I bought 2 meters, and I was able to make this top and a knee length dress!

8  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Half circle skirt on: November 02, 2012 01:32:23 PM
It's the first one I make, It took me almost 2 weeks (I'm not a fast sewer and I had to remove and sew again an invisible zipper. The first one melted while ironing lol).

It's fully lined, and I know it's very simple, but I love it. This is the way I think I'll wear it, with a belt and a pink top

And here without the belt

9  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Polka dot corset on: September 30, 2012 01:42:06 PM
I started my first corset a few months ago and I finished it today Cheesy. I used 20 grommets, and for the boning 21 cable ties. It's not perfect, but at this point I'm so tired of it that I really don't care. lol

My 'lovely' dress form giving it a try

10  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Dress to attend wedding on: July 13, 2012 04:27:58 PM
Last month, I had a wedding to attend but didn't have a dress to wear. I went out shopping and tried at least 20 dresses, all of them where over $120 (many of them weren't worth the money) and I didn't like them at all.

I ended sewing it by myself, total cost: $18. I used a pattern! My first time using one, and I discovered that it's much easier making clothes with a pattern than doing them 'by eye'. I used New Look 6750.

PS: The sleeves are really nice but can't be seen on the picture, they are done with two pieces of fabric, front one in grey and the back one in black

Finished and ready to go:

I hadn't finished it in this picture, still had to adjust, sew and serge (I bought a serger a few months ago and I LOVE it) but you can see the details on the sleeve and the bodice:
