For the ongoing ATC swap for July, I decided to challenge myself to stitch all of them.  First I had to learn to embroider! (I am happy to say that I am now addicted and can't stop.  But it is a cheaper craft so my hub can't complain    This was a huge challenge for me because it made me take time out to sit down and not think about anything other than stitching(and with a two year old taking "me" time is rare!) I actually finished her a few months ago and she has found a new home with Witchhippie but here is my "official" first knitted project. (half finished projects don't count  )  Yep she is knitted- all of her except her clothes and eyes/mouth. (an insane first knitting project?- heck yes!)

( I was very surprised how easy simple knitting was to pick up and this book was very easy to follow for a newbie)




She only took me about 3 weeks to finish. Youtube was a great help too. c/c welcome for this newbie knitter. 

I made these yesterday at a 4H leaders forum.  We used cardboard (any type would work but cereal boxes were about the thickness we used) and duct tape. I'm not sure that they would last for ever but they would work great for pedicures or the airport.  They took about 20 minutes to make.

Yesterday I went to a 4H leaders forum and had a blast.  This is one of the recycled projects they taught us to teach to the kids. We fused plastic grocery bags together and used duct tape to "sew" it together.  I can't wait to teach it to the kids at camp this summer. This was such a fun project, I'm off to see what else I can make.

Since my partner has received I thought I would share with everyone else. 

I made this little Luna for the OTHPT2.  She is just over 2.5 inches.  This is the first OTHPT that I've done and it was harder than I thought.  I kept wanting to add extras and make it bigger.  I'm super happy with the way she turned out.

A friend of mine is an art teacher and before she tossed the dye and wax she asked if I wanted to try tie dye and batik over spring break. (um.. heck yes!) So here is my first attempts. The batik didn't really turn out how I thought it would but I'm pretty happy how everything turned out.  These will be gifts for my niece and nephews

We decided to do a homemade Valentine's Day.  I made this for my hub.  I was going to use a pattern online but I wanted him to be a bit bigger for snuggling. I'm pretty excited on how he turned out.



The hub made me a little heart pillow and a bottle of love potion (strawberry vodka)

A friend of mine is converting an old doll house into a gnome/fairy house for her daughter, she asked me to make some dolls.  After working on the Gnome and Mushroom swap and searching through google I made this. So far she's the only one done and I'm pretty proud of how she came out.

My friend's lil monster (she just turned two and I call her monster with love) was the happy recipient of the plastic canvas castle/finger puppet set I posted a while ago.  She told me that Alex will run around the house chasing people with the dragon finger puppet growling and rawring at them. (so cute).  I decided to create more puppets that fit her personality.

 Mini Alex is crochet, the bed is plastic canvas, the blanket is a granny square, and the monsters are crochet with googly eyes.





 The playset was a hit with my friends as well.  Now I have to make one for their son (I'm thinking Firefly or DW)

This was my first blanket.  A friend of mine gave me a bag of homespun yarn in blue and green.  I had no idea what to make, then she told me that her hubby was making a pirate ship crib for the new addition.  So I made this.  I also learned the hard way that, even though most of them are, all hooks are not the same.  Some how my giant q hook disappeared, so I went to Michael's and got a new one, finished my blanket.  I was so excited when I was finished, not so when I laid it out...


but my dear friend loves it just the way it is and you can't really tell when you snuggle up in it.
