I got this gangsta XL shirt from an Anchor Blue that was closing down for $6. the print on it was so badass I couldn't resist, and I knew it would make an awesome dress. tonight I finally got around to cutting it up and I was right; it makes a totally hot dress! I took some pictures for a mini-tutorial in case anyone's bored and wants to make one of these. :>
what you'll need!
-a t-shirt so big you could swim in it
-a sewing machine (unless you're a masochist and want to sew it by hand)
-a serger (optional)
-a tank top that fits you well
-scissors
-blood, sweat, and tearz!!!!11
alright, so here's a photo of the shirt before it got sexy-fied:

hueg leik xbox, as you can see.
first! you will turn the shirt inside out and lay it out flat. then you take your tank top and line it up to be centered on the shirt. afterwards, you cut around the tank top, leaving about 1.5/2 inch seam allowance. like so:

second! if you have a serger, serge the armholes and neckline. I serged mine with white thread because
I was too lazy to rethread my serger I figured it'd make for a cool contrast and a nice deconstructed look. if you don't have a serger, you can always use zig-zag stitch as an alternative. or if you want your edges nice and neat and hemmed, turn them under and sew.
third! sew up the sides. if you have a serger, go ahead and serge the sides after they're sewn. or zig-zag stitch. or leave them how they are. see if I care!
fourth! put your dress on and dance around feeling pretty.

(excuse my sun burn, I'm pretty much inept at putting on sunblock.)
and there you have it! that took, what, like 20 minutes max? you didn't even have to measure or mark anything! and now you have yourself a cute little dress to go clubbing in. 8D
